2. The screw nut according to claim 1, wherein the cushioning component forms a spiral-shaped gap between the inner nut component and the outer nut component.

The deformable fastening system of claim 1, wherein the one or more projections includes at least one first projection extending generally circumferentially about the surface of the head portion relative to the longitudinal axis. 3. The deformable fastening system of claim 2, wherein the at least one first projection is formed with at least one geometric profile as part of the surface of the head portion of the fastener to provide a sealing arrangement between the fastener and the mating surface of the clamped component. 4. 1. A self-locking nut comprising:
a main-nut body having a front surface leading into an interior threaded bore forming x turns of an internal thread therein and a recess in the front surface, the front surface extending along an outer perimeter of the main-nut body, the recess leading into the interior threaded bore; anda deformable-nut body having a central body portion defining an interior threaded bore forming y turns of an internal thread therein and an outer flange extending outwardly from the central body portion, wherein the deformable nut body includes an inclined front face and an inclined rear face such that the central body portion is thicker than the outer flange,wherein the outer flange of the deformable-nut body is fixed to the front surface of the main-nut body such that a relief space is formed between the deformable-nut body and the main-nut body,wherein a first portion of the deformable-nut body is contained in the recess prior to installation of the self-locking nut on a threaded bolt shaft, and a second portion of the deformable-nut body is adapted to be contained in the recess after the installation, the second portion having a larger volume than the first portion.
2. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the recess is inwardly-tapered and extends in an annular fashion at an angle θ between about five degrees and about seventy-five degrees relative to a central axis of the self-locking nut.
3. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the deformable-nut body has a first shape prior to installation of the self-locking nut on a threaded bolt shaft and adapted to have a different second shape after installation of the self-locking nut on the threaded bolt shaft.
4. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the outer flange of the deformable-nut body is fixed to the main-nut body such that (i) the deformable-nut body cannot rotate relative to the main-nut body and (ii) the interior threaded bore of the deformable-nut body is timed with the interior threaded bore of the main-nut body.
5. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the inclined front face of the deformable-nut body is inclined at an angle α relative to the outer flange, the angle α being between about ninety and about one hundred and eighty degrees.
6. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the inclined rear face of the deformable-nut body is inclined at an angle β relative to the outer flange, the angle β is between about ninety degrees and about one hundred and forty degrees.
7. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the deformable-nut body has an outer surface that is configured to be engaged by the tool to rotate the self-locking nut about the threaded bolt shaft during installation.
8. The self-locking nut of claim 1, wherein the interior threaded bore of the deformable-nut body forms less than one complete turn of the internal thread therein.

the holding means comprises at least one biasing arm provided in the connection hole of the connection element and a step surface provided on the bolt rod, the at least one biasing arm being configured to be biased by the bolt rod when the bolt rod is inserted in the connection hole along an insertion direction towards the pre-assembled position and to abut against the step surface of the bolt rod when the bolt rod reaches the pre-assembly position.
4. The tolerance compensation fastening assembly according to claim 3, wherein:
a proximal end of each of the at least one biasing arm is connected to a wall of the connection hole, and a distal end thereof being free end, the biasing arm extending from the proximal end to the distal end in a direction gradually away from the compensation element and toward a center axis of the connection hole, wherein the distal end of the biasing arm abuts against the step surface of the bolt rod when the bolt rod reaches the pre-assembled position.

a sleeve extending along a length of the fastener;a head located on the fastener;a portion having a chamber; andat least one pin slot located on a portion of the fastener and extending from the chamber to the sleeve;a lock, wherein the lock is configured to be received in the chamber of the fastener and further comprises:

1. A locking system comprising:
a fastener, wherein the fastener further comprises:
a sleeve extending along a length of the fastener;a head located on the fastener;a portion having a chamber; andat least one pin slot located on a portion of the fastener and extending from the chamber to the sleeve;a lock, wherein the lock is configured to be received in the chamber of the fastener and further comprises:
a top, wherein the top includes a key slot; andat least one retractable pin located on the lock.
2. The locking system of claim 1, wherein the locking system further comprises:
a secondary locking mechanism, wherein the secondary locking mechanism comprises:
a cap with a plurality of holes or protrusions; anda cap key with protrusions or holes which correspondingly fit the plurality of holes or protrusions, respectively, on the cap.
3. The locking system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of pins is controlled by a rotatable mechanism located at a base of the lock, the base comprising:
a plurality of pins that synchronously move laterally and outwardly; anda plurality of channels around the center point of the base where each pin synchronously slides outward toward the cylindrical sleeve from the internal chamber in to the plurality of pin slots, and synchronously towards a center point of the base as the pins slide out of the pin slots.
4. The locking system of claim 1, wherein the locking system further comprises an adapter, the adapter comprising:
a top portion which fits inside an external device extending from the threaded head;a bottom portion; anda flange which protrudes in between the top and bottom portions;wherein the adapter is configured to install and remove the fastener.
5. The locking system of claim 1, wherein the fastener further comprises a threaded aperture located in the sleeve extending from near the fastener to the internal chamber.
6. A method to prevent theft utilizing the locking system of claim 1, comprising the steps of:
threading the fastener;using the adapter to tighten the fastener;inserting the detachable lock into the internal chamber;matching a corresponding key into the key slot of the detachable lock;rotating the key in the key slot;extending the retractable pins from the base into the internal portion of the cylindrical sleeve;attaching the cap on to the threaded head; andmatching the geometric protrusions or holes of the cap key to the cap and rotating to tighten the cap.
7. The method to prevent theft of claim 6, unlocking the locking system comprises the steps of:
matching the protrusions or holes of the cap key to the cap;rotating the cap key;removing the cap using the cap key;exposing the top portion of the key slot;inserting the corresponding key into the key slot;rotating the key in the key slot;retracting the retractable pins into the base;removing the detachable lock from the internal chamber; andremoving the fastener.

The hardware fastener according to claim 1, wherein the spring members are substantially perpendicular to a vertical axis, Z, of the movable threaded element when the hardware fastener is in a loosened or non-tightened condition, and wherein the spring members are not perpendicular to the vertical axis, Z, of the movable threaded element when the hardware fastener is in a tightened condition.
7. The hardware fastener according to claim 1, wherein the movable threaded element has one or more rows of equally-spaced spring members, and wherein each row contains a plurality of spring members.

2. The fastener of claim 1, wherein the internal alignment shaft comprises two tapered sections oriented along a central body of the internal alignment shaft and which guide the lateral movement of the first shaft element and the second shaft element relative to the internal alignment shaft.
3. The fastener of claim 2, wherein the two tapered sections are approximately conical in shape.
4. The fastener of claim 2, wherein the internal alignment shaft further comprises a cross bar oriented perpendicular to the central body and which is configured to axially and laterally engage the first shaft element and the second shaft element via a first slot in the first shaft element and a second slot in the second shaft element.
5. The fastener of claim 1, further comprising a housing which surrounds the first cap end and the second cap end, extends along the shaft axis to the first shaft end and the second shaft end, and is configured to receive the cap.
6. The fastener of claim 1, wherein the cap and the housing are configured to be actuated with pliers.
7. The fastener of claim 1, wherein the first shaft end comprises a threaded section and the second shaft end comprises an unthreaded section.

The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the shaft is perpendicular or substantially perpendicular with respect to the bearing area and/or in that the bearing area is shaped as a flat circular ring and has a radial width which is greater than or equal to the radial width of the recess.
3. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the bearing area has a value A which is at least 30% of the total area TA under the screw head less the cross-section C of the shaft which lies in the plane of the bearing area.
4. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the shaft has a drilling portion featuring at least one cutting edge, wherein the thread is formed between the drilling portion and the screw head.

The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the shaft has a portion which tapers towards the free end of the shaft, which is in particular formed as a tip or rounded tip, wherein the thread is at least partially formed between said portion and the screw head, wherein the tapering portion is provided with no thread or with some of the thread.
6. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the layer thickness of the coating outside the region of the recess is between 0.1 mm and 0.9 mm.
7. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the sealant is non-reactive.
8. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the sealant contains 40% to 90% by weight of a resin component consisting of a polymeric resin or a mixture of two or more polymeric resins, wherein the resin or resins preferably comprise or consist of elastic resin or resins.
9. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the resin component of the sealant comprises one or more acrylate polymers and/or one or more acrylate copolymers and in particular consists of acrylate polymers and acrylate copolymers.
10. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the sealant shows an elongation at break of 150% to 250%, in particular 170% to 230%, in a high-speed tensile test below 200 mm/min according to ISO 18872 and EN ISO 527-1.
11. The screw according to claim 1, characterised in that the polymeric sealant also covers a region on the shaft, preferably including at least one and particularly preferably at least two or three flights of the thread.

4. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein the upper edge and the lower edge move away from each other while the side wall extends radially from the periphery of the head part towards the center.
5. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein a width of each of the support elements gradually decreases from the periphery of the head part towards the center.
6. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein the flange part comprises an upper surface and a lower surface, and the upper surface extends radially inclined from the periphery of the flange part to the center.
7. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein an angle of a lower edge on each side wall of the support elements with a horizontal axis is between 0° and 45° while extending radially from the periphery of the head part to the center.
8. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein an angle of an upper edge on each side wall of the support elements with a horizontal axis is between 5° and 75° while extending radially from the periphery of the head part to the center.
9. The fastener according to claim 1, wherein an angle between the side walls of any two successive support elements facing each other is between 50° and 105°.

4. The u-shaped clamp of claim 2, wherein the offset bend on the second flange has a terminal portion bent away from the first flange, the bending of the terminal portion configured to facilitate insertion of the wire between the first flange and the second flange.
5. The u-shaped clamp of claim 2, wherein the offset bend provides a spring action to retain the inserted wire between the second flange and the first flange before the fastener is tightened.
6. The u-shaped clamp of claim 2, wherein the first flange and the second flange are brought together when the fastener is tightened, and wherein the substantially planar first flange and the substantially planar first portion of the second flange clamps the inserted wire, cable, or pipe therebetween when the fastener is tightened.
7. The u-shaped clamp of claim 1, wherein the offset bend on the second portion is offset away from the first flange.
8. The u-shaped clamp of claim 7, wherein the offset bend on the second flange has a terminal portion bent toward the first flange, the bending of the terminal portion configured to hold the inserted wire, cable, or pipe between the first flange and the second flange before the fastener is tightened.
9. The u-shaped clamp of claim 1, wherein an outer perimeter of the substantially planar first flange is substantially circular.
10. The u-shaped clamp of claim 1, wherein a diameter of the second aperture is greater than a diameter of the first aperture.
11. The u-shaped clamp of claim 1, wherein the clamp is formed from a substantially uniform thickness metal.
12. The u-shaped clamp of claim 1, wherein the clamp is stainless steel or aluminum.

2. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the plurality of structural features comprises a first groove and a second groove, and at least one dimension of the first groove and the second groove differ.
3. The multi-piece fastener of claim 2, wherein the at least one dimension of the first groove and the second groove is selected from groove crest and a groove depth.
4. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the plurality of structural features comprises a first annular shoulder and a second annular shoulder, and at least one dimension of the first annular shoulder and the second annular shoulder differ.
5. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the plurality of structural features comprises a first thread and a second thread, and at least one dimension of the first thread and the second thread differ.
6. The multi-piece fastener of claim 5, wherein the at least one dimension of the first thread and the second thread is selected from thread depth, inner thread diameter, outer thread diameter, and thread pitch.
7. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the fastening collar is generally cylindrical.
8. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the fastening collar comprises a flange, the first pin end comprises a head portion, and the second pin end comprises a pull region.
9. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the multi-piece fastener is adapted to be installed in a bore in a structure.
10. The multi-piece fastener of claim 9, wherein the structure is at least one of an aerospace part or component, an automotive part or component, a transportation part or component, and a building and construction part or component.
11. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein the multi-piece fastener comprises at least one of a metal, a metal alloy, and a composite.
12. The multi-piece fastener of claim 1, wherein a diameter of the shank is in a range of 0.06 inches to 4 inches.
