2 | AHS Student Government Association (SGA) | AHS SGA is a student-led government organization committed to advocating for student needs and concerns, coordinating with AHS for special events (like Homecoming), and supporting various service projects throughout the year. SGA fficer meet weekly on Tuesday mornings (7:45 AM - 8:20 AM). There are opportunities for volunteers to serve on SGA committees which meet as Tuesday clubs during 5th period. 23 | Med Life | AHS/SILSA MEDLIFE is a chapter of the MEDLIFE Movement, a nonprofit organization that aims to break down barriers in access to healthcare, education, and medicine on a global scale. This MEDLIFE chapter not only focuses our efforts on Latin American countries, but also on our community right here in Asheville! To help MEDLIFE and their partner, communities break down barriers chapters usually host Power Hour fundraisers 1-2 times a year. Like telethons, we call, email, and text people to ask for donations. So far, we've raised nearly $2000. Every year, we will also try to go on a Service Learning Trip. 24 | Mountain Biking Team (Pisgah Range) | The mountain biking team is under umbrella of the Buncombe Country youth mountain biking team, PISGAH RAGE. Pisgah Rage is part of a muh larger oragnization called NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association). NICA is the governing body of the NC league, but is represented in over 20 states.
