I'll say the here and now learning is now part of lives, although the presentation asked the question, but what about it. Business and Learning strategies should change to accommodate the real time zone of activity. Old news does not matter to most these days and what they could have learned from that also doesn't matter, its living in the moment and what is the take home information of that moment, yet we should caution ourselves to not learn about the moment but the take home information is dying very quickly.
2
I must be honest, couldn't grasp what the presenter wanted to say here, yes a digital story, but what about it, I could implement it to my learners, but what was the content here, it's still 50 shades of grey for me.
3
I work with this every day, and to me the elephants are not Customized learning, Assessment and Costs. Being in the here and now and working with the students, the barriers we face or the elephants in the room trumpeting away are:
- Lecturers/Teachers/Subject matter Experts
- Management
- Business staff compound
We can go on and on about whatever, the core starts with the business, you don't wear the jacket, you don't see results, and it doesn't matter how you look at it, if the business (staff) does not buy into a concept, forget about it, then you need to change your strategy or get rid of the dead wood. My opinion, get rid of the dead wood, you can change management so many times, shake the tree and let them "leaf"

Now I love this woman's enthusiasm, spunk, the energy, this is what makes it work for her, she bought into the concept, she lives the concept and she implements the concept and that is the answer, wear it, feel it, live it and BE IT!

Excellent, thank you Cheryl.

Quite an interesting statement made: students don't engage in the classroom due to their environment. That is worth looking into, what does the environment look like, who is in the environment and what makes it happen, what speaks to a student? Yes we are all old school idiots trying to make a difference, my best bet here is, wear the shoes of a teenager to mid 20's, therein lies the answer, we all want to know what they want, but yet, we don't have an answer, I guess its because the trends changes so drastically that the answer shifts. Liked the presentation, makes you think.
5
I enjoyed this presentation, the challenge is, how to implement this type of workflow to a chef, I love a challenge so i'm taking this one on, head on, we do have our scenario's and activities, but its now bringing tech to an onion and make a boiled egg, roboegg :-)
5
It is what it is, make it available bottom line. Be present and be open, make it available.
2
I can't find the just of this presentation, but will investigate cloud computing more in the learning environment

I had to leave unfortunately, but stayed until the group session started, WOW WOW WOW.... In that hour I was there, I'll steel both of them, excellent and informative, to the point and very real, to me it was quite inspiring and motivational, I don't live in the 50 shades of grey, I'm either black or white, yes or no and these girls, they are my type of people, don't take nonsense, face the reality, make a difference and if you want to make a difference, do it now, loved it, excellent.

Looked at extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Dissed the learning styles...not much better than horoscope.
4
Moving students into different spaces. Using video as a way of expanding a students. Using other ways of measuring what people are doing.
5
Personalised vs personal learning. Let learning happen first and then find the place of technology.
5
Digital natives and digital immigrants is a myth.
4
If you want people to complete a course, pay them. But did they learn anything.
5
The ease of creating effective interactive learning.
54
Very depressing. Apart from the lack of infrastructure the lack of understanding among teachers will be difficult to transform.
5
It was great to do something interactive.

Uptake vs completion - at what point does learning take place. does it matter
5value of LMS5
Personal vs personalized learning.
5
Digital Literacy , digital immigrants
Technology literacy does not equal computer literacy
Kids as creative activists
5
Incentives as the driver for extrinsic motivation
did they finish the task or did they learn from the task
4
Different approaches to developing the programs. not sure how much value this presentation brought to me as an individual. In review though one finds that the message came through well
5
Open vs market led access, sense of entitlement

4
Corporate/ Teacher attitude
Need to develop digital literacy in educators, also access to technology

Human barriers
5
Interrelatedness of the trends

However, when doing groups, please watch for continual announcements while the groups are trying to function.

Assumption of people, assuming that a certain group of people are good at...Awareness of piracy
4
Incentive and motivation, how extrinsic motivation is stronger - deep learning
5
Technology not intimidating, nice flow. Like the special effects in the background and the low bandwith
Copy right pirachy adn why people download illegally, the sense of entillement, stats on how many learners actually leave after the first yesr
4
How difficult it will be to get the buyin from teachers and how much bandwidth it would take
5
If management dont buyin then find ways of working around it.. Cater for the demand & supply. I liked the idea of removing email when on leave

Incentive vs. motivation. Learning is a choice. Intrinsic vs. extrinsic.
4
Allowing learners to write their own story. Technology is not an obstacle. Lock into a learner's identity.
5
Technology's place in learning... Not learning's place in technology. Personalized learning vs. personal learning.
5
younger users are not necessarily more digitally wise.
4
Incentives for manageable tasks.
5
How to simplify learning through technology.
3
Learners feel that they have right to information for learning.

How learners consume learning content
People learn if they want to learn
Little nuggets
People get more competent through more than one interaction in a specific topic
How do learners choose what option to take
4
Used topics open ended
Let learners decide how they are going to get to the outcome
Let them use personal experiences
4
Peer to peer learning is important
Assessment is for learning not judgement
4
Digital literacy
Teach people to be good communicators online
Make sure that you know what your digital identity is
4
Intrinsic and extrinsic
Completion of courses stronger when mandatory or monetary reward attached
33 game mechanics3
Piracy is rife amongst students
3
Unrealistic goal
Lack of resources
Teachers not in support of the project - fear of the unknown

Use of Technology in education.
SA spends more money on education than Australia, USA and Canada.
Singapore spends less on training but have way better results…..Why?
The flood of technology does bring challenges.
Transformation and change management.
Maintenance is expensive
My opinion:
Using technology often leads to the child being on his/her own without the necessary ‘supervision’ to guide the learning process. Managing them?
Difficulty to master the technology will hamper the learner/child’s progress and learning curve
5
Knowing about technology does not necessary make you clever.
5
Reality is the motivator for people in the workplace.
5
You are doing a great job. you made me thing how do to make sure the a learning experience is also fun?
45
You are doing a great job and have a difficult road ahead. Good luck. Even if you make it work in just a small way you would have moved a mountain.
Taking baby steps often changes minds in a big way.
Please do not stop working!
