Normal(Brian Kaul 2/24/15): Seems quite interested. Agreed to talk to Tony Albright. Wonders if a state just asserted its own right to campaign finance, if SCOTUS would uphold that; looks to a certain ACA case as an indicator. Get back to him on laws in Montana getting shot down, and which MN laws might be invalidated.
(Brian Kaul 3/10/15):He is not opposed to this measure, but even after I showed him that this ruling has overturned MN laws and abrogated our state sovereignty, he still talks about asserting states' rights outside a convention. Anyway, he looks forward to hearing what Tony has to say to the caucus.

Considine isn't ready to support yet but I think he will come around. Plan to stay in touch with him.

High(Brian 1/29/15): She seems open to the idea, but not entirely convinced. She talked about the need to get fundraising parity among various interests groups, but wanted that to happen through voluntary means. She hates PAC money and praised MN's voucher program of public finance. If we can show how CU v. FEC stops similar programs from being effective at the federal level and ohw Wolf-PAC can solve that, we might nab her vote.

Very High(Nate M 3/9/16): Spoke with Peggy at the DFL Senate District Convention and she responded very well to my questions. When I asked her if she had an opinion on money in politics and Citizens United, she stated that it was a serious problem and mentioned corporations not being treated as people. She agreed that waiting on congress to do anything was a futile effort and when I mentioned Rep. Dean's name, she was not surprised that he might be supportive as well. I let her know that there was an existing bill, but that we felt that our proposal was stronger since it did not call on congress to take action before falling back to an Article V convention.
I asked her if I could send her our packet of information and follow up with a call and she agreed. I am sending the packet tonight and will call her office next week.
(Nate M. 3/19/16): I may also have recruited some new volunteers for Wolf PAC, but we'll see if they follow through or not.
I called Rep. Flanagan's office number and left a message asking if she had a chance to go over the material I sent. I also asked to schedule a call to discuss the resolution and to answer any questions she might have.
(Nate M 3/24/16): I left a message asking for a call back re: scheduling time to discuss our proposal.
