Curry Without WorryCurry without Worry is a weekly meet up group which gets together to make vegan Nepalese food, that feeds approx. 250 people in need every week. Since the non-profit started in 2006, it has served meals to more than 700,000 people.This is a fun way to meet people within the community, learn some cooking tips, and give back to those in need. 826 Valencia826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills. San Francisco SPCAThe SF SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is an animal shelter, a spay/neuter clinic and a full-service public animal hospital. Its mission is to save and protect animals (it pioneered the no-kill movement), provide care and treatment, advocate for their welfare and enhance the human-animal bond. Many opportunities available at Mission including dog and cat socializing and training; animal assisted therapy; community cat TNR; fostering; special events; front desk and administrative assistance. At Pacific Heights you can also volunteer to be a 'hospital concierge' where you assist to provide customer service to hospital clients and adoption centre visitors. Varies - usually 2 hours per week (same day/time) for a minimum of 6 months. Pacific Heights - 2343 Fillmore Street; or Mission - 250 Florida Street.
