JAMII Mentoring ProgramDr. Luther BakerNo designated time with menteeon school campus JAMII Mentoring Program at Pflugerville High School provides an alternative for students, whose parents are unable to fulfil a mentoring role and serves as an additional resource for students whose parents are engaged in their lives. Research has shown mentoring to be particularly effective for students of color who face environmental risk factors such as poverty (Rhodes & Dubois, 2006). In this context mentoring should be explored as one component of the overall remedy to the school academic failure, dropout rate, fighting, and drug abuse.
