I feel refreshed and renewed after the time spent in creativity, playfulness, and contemplation. The quilling - an art-form I learned from my grandmother - encourages me to engage in patient mindfulness.||Drop at strangebrew|
|Lindsey Taucher, LPC||Blue Hole||watercolor & email@example.com||I first found Blue Hole in 2014 and have found it to be a place of rejuvenation, peace, energy and beauty. It is a place that helps me shake off the dust and take a break from everyday life. By revisiting it in art, I am hopeful that I and you can escape a bit as well.||drop at strangebrew|

By allowing the paint to drip and splatter and then carefully outlining the resulting mess, it felt like I found a way to contain my own nervous energy. Art has always been my way of taking care of myself.||drop at strangebrew|

When I giude my clients to create their own art, I can feel a transformation happen in the room. They allow thier soul to wash away sadness, grief, guilt, and pain, and enter into a new experience; creating thier own colors, the new version of themselves. There is nothing quite like it. Nothing more beautiful.
|Sigal Govrin MA, ATR-BC, LPC||Untitledfirstname.lastname@example.org|
When I create I feel this energy move through me. One can call it creative energy, passion, life force, the femanine...The process itself, regardless of the end result, allows me to move something internally, wash it away, or even invite it in.

I recently relocated to Austin in pursuit of a deeper fulfillment in my professional and personal life. I recycled a discarded quilt and altered its image, much like how I am renewing my own image in a new city.||strange brew|

10.5 in diameter
This work started as an experiment with new materials, fostered
|Emily McElmurry||&watercolor on|
through the adoration and exploration of textiles as a fine art
material. This work has been ongoing, over the course of a year.
I often work on it for some time then pause, start something new,
|but I am always coming back to this piece. Working with this|
material reminds me to be patient, to allow for mistakes and
and new discoveries. Creating artwork that enables me to access
a monotonous, repetitive meditative pattern allows me to escape.

This work was an exercise in exploring a new material, while also
creating art that served to aid in tolerating the discomfort of

Object relations theory is something that fascinates me and is
so prevelant in the work i do as an art therapist. The viewer is forced
to come very close to this work in order to take note of the subtleties
within the small scale framework. The work is done simply with only a tac
and foamcore. Again, as stated previously, i enjoy creating art that
induces a sort of hypnotic repetition that allows me to become

|Bess Green||Laid Bare||photograph||20X 20 w frame||NFSfirstname.lastname@example.org|
These images were developed from photographs I took on a walk shortly after my father died. I had been feeling restless and irritable and drove out to Colorado Bend State Park. Everywhere in the landscape I found images that seemed to confirm and transform the emotions and process of grief.Time and again, I find solace and renewal in nature and art. For me, this is soul medicine.

When we choose to tap our creative wellspring, we can enliven our life force and transcend our despairs. Each of our gifts differ, and are unique to each person. Yet, when we choose to be creative, we find we have gifts, that only we can give. Enrich our world, by identifying your gifts, by choosing to experience the natural highs of being in your creative process of your choice to find your natural creative mode to pour forth your creative flow.

We may not be able to remake history, yet we may be able to re-perceive it! We can reflect, possibly repair some of our past and definitely re-envision it. No matter how horrendous past experiences may have been, nothing is lost if a lesson is learned. The 1976 AATA Logo was never printed as I wished my design to be printed, so it is remadehere, as Finding the Light in the Darkness, Surround us with the Energy of a New Beginning.
