National Blood Drive ChairStudent AffairsABOUT THE POSITION: "The key responsibilities of this individual are to organize and promote the CFMS’ year round blood donation activities and to oversee volunteers at medical school campuses across the country dedicated to the blood drive efforts. This involves recruiting and organizing representatives at each school to work as a part of Canadian Blood Service’s (CBS) Partners For Life program and communicating with CBS coordinators to organize and promote donation activity and ensure that the blood drive is as successful as ever! As in years past, the CFMS would once again like to promote the OneMatch, the Canadian unrelated bone marrow donor registry. The CFMS is CBS’ longest-standing national partner, and in the last few years, that partnership has grown to the point that we are now producing donation numbers higher than we had ever thought possible! As a result of the strong work of medical students across the country, the CFMS has been nationally recognized in the past by Canadian Blood Services for its work – it is quite apparent that this is a very important project!"1Y
