Purpose

This workbook helps MPOs identify congressional committee members with jurisdiction over surface transportation policy and funding. It highlights committee leadership and members serving on relevant surface transportation subcommittees, along with party and state/district information to support targeted outreach.

Each tab corresponds to one committee:
House T&I — House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure
Senate EPW — Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works
Senate Commerce — Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation
Senate Banking — Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs

Columns on each tab:
• Name — Member of Congress
• Committee — Full committee assignment
• District — House district (House only); for Senators, the state appears in both District and State columns
• State — Two-letter state abbreviation
• Party — R (Republican), D (Democrat), I (Independent)
• Leadership Role — Committee leadership and, if applicable, the relevant surface transportation subcommittee leadership
• Subcommittee(s) — Only the relevant surface transportation subcommittee for that committee
