Ignite is an organization for female student leaders involved in current issues impacting Skyline as well as the overall community.Ignite provides a forum for members to meet and have personal interactions with female political candidates and elected officials.
This year the Skyline service project called “Menstrual Equity” won the State award for best project, and Skyline Ignite members received a special commendation from the State. The Dallas County Commissioner’s Court signed by Commissioner Theresa Daniel and County Judge Clay Jenkins also issued a proclamation. Each year the State Ignite organization presents scholarships to outstanding graduating Seniors.

The Skyline team has won five straight Dallas ISD tournaments, involving approximately 30 schools, and has qualified a record sixteen straight years for the Texas State Tournament. During this period, the Skyline Mock Trial team has twice won the State title and competed in Nationals. The team is always in the top ten teams in the State. There are additional competitions at Harvard College and New York City.

Only 24 students are selected for this program they are chosen from Drama Club, Theater One Act Play Actors and the Theater Classes. You must have be dedicated to the Theater Department to be chosen. The students go see all the plays put on by the Dallas Theater and critique them. You also must be able to go to the plays at night outside of school hours.

With Project Discovery, we go see plays at the Dallas Theatre. This year's plays included Real Women Have Curves, Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night. With the Drama Club, we play theatre games, inform the team of upcoming events and activities and rehearse in various shows such as The Wiz, Highest Heaven, and The Story. In UIL One Act Play we work on a one act play, such as "The Shadowbox."

to prepare a students for moral and political leadership in the American democratic process by providing guidance, training, and experience in the theory and practice of determining public policy on the state level in the Judicial and Legislative Branch. It is called “a laboratory in citizenship and government.”
The Skyline students compete against students from other North and East Texas schools to qualify for the Texas State Tournament. Currently thirty-two Skyline students qualified for the State competition in Austin in late January.
