For the readings we were able to get through, we had good and thought provoking discussions on the topics that were read. I was able to establish some level of comfort during the session.

We were only able to get through 3 of the readings, and I was hoping to establish a higher level of comfort during the session since there was still some feeling of awkwardness when discussions are starting. Also the logistics of starting the session, because there was some renovation going on in the room, so it threw me off.

As it was the first session, I think the fact that they were open to the new ideas its already a good thing. Also they liked again the icebraker with finding the common words.

There was one mentee who didnt really take this session seriously. He was very sarcastic, didnt read the materials with attention and made a joke of most of my questions and I couldnt react to his answers properly. I hope next time he will be more respectful.

Today there were so many discussion where the insights were built on each other from different people which increased the quality of the session.

We couldnt finish all the readings, also I wasnt prepared enough for the one mentee who is a bit more challenging for me.

There are some points which are not quite aligned with the texts. I'll write these to one of the main organisers.

One practical thing is that in Madrid room the AC isnt working properly, it doesnt cooling the air. Another thing is that questions came from a mentee asking if is there any connection between EA and Chernobyl and also if there is an opportunity to make charity efficiency calculations by ourelves just like how GiveWell does? I would appreciate to receive any comments on these.

The mentees had some disagreements but were extremely understanding and accepted each other's viewpoints. I think it was really constructive and educative.

We only got through the first article. I think some selection of the materials is definitely needed for the upcoming rounds (I'm happy to help with this.)

As we are behind the schedule, we decided to cover two week's topic in one session. For this one they have read the materials of the 4th and 5th week prior the session hence we could focus more on the discussion part. Althouth I didnt know if we will have the time for both of it, we did a great job and finished it in time.

It was nice to see that they borrowed books from the library, asked how to apply for volunteer work, interested in working wiht EA and such. It was really amazing to see them being so motivated and driven.
