gary@ibsh.twGary Cheng鄭貴立Selected Readings of Pre-Qin Literature先秦文學選讀先秦文學泛指上古時代至秦朝統—天下(公元前221年)之前的文學作品,其中包括了神話、韻文及散文。先秦文學被視為中國文學的起源,對數千年來的中華文化有極為重要的影響。 本課程係從先秦時期的韻文(如詩經、楚辭)、歷史散文(如尚書、春秋)與哲理散文(如孔孟、老莊)中,選讀具有代表性的文本,以課堂討論、分組報告、小論文寫作方式進行。Pre-Qin literature is regarded as the origin of Chinese literature and has a great influence on Chinese culture spanning back thousands of years. It includes the study of myths, verse and prose, from ancient times to the Qin Dynasty (221 BC).
This course provides various activities such as small group discussion, text-reading and essay writing over pre-Qin verses (such as the Book of Songs, Songs of the South), historical essays (such as Book of Spring and Autumn) and philosophical essays (such as Confucius and Mencius, Laozi).

biographies of some of the famous writers and 
their literary works from Tang and Song dynasties.
The course is aimed to foster students' knowledge
and skills in literary analysis in order to understand how
the article is written, why it is written that
way, and what effects these elements have on
meaning as a whole.

It was composed approximately between 1749 and 1759 during the Qing Dynasty. The novel is believed to be semi-autobiographical, mirroring the fortunes of the author’s own family. As the author details in the first chapter, it is intended to be a memorial to the women he knew in his youth: friends, relatives and servants. The novel is remarkable not only for its huge cast of characters and psychological scope, but also for its precise and detailed observation of the life and social structures typical of 18th-century in China.

Classes are conducted by reading an introductory version of the novel for young readers. Through the story reading, students would be able to reflect their perspectives, combining their life experience at the young age. With the help of some video watching, class could visualize the life at a big traditional family in China.

wen@ibsh.twWen Chen陳文英Eating literature飲食文學飲食文學就是食物的書寫。飲食文學的精神在於對萬物、對人的真心,所以飲食文學的內容有可能是舌尖細細品味的食物,或是離開家鄉時夢中出現的美味,也可能是隔鄰飄來美食的記憶…… 研讀飲食文學, 內容包含: 禮記,世說新語,唐詩,和近代散文,詩或短篇小說。 先用自我研讀的方式, 再藉由課內討論分享, 更了解體會作品內容。 課堂上以講述、分組討論、續寫小說創作, 等方式進行。 此課程九到十二年級都可以選修。“Eating Literature” is literature about the relative descriptions for the food.
The Eating Literature is focused on the real heart for the whole world. It can talk about the delicious food on the tip of our tongue, the yummy food in our dreams when we are far away from our hometown, or the memory of gourmet food.
Researching Eating literature, we will look at classical or modern poems, and short stories. We will first use take home readings, and then share through class discussions to more fully understand the meaning.
We will use class discussion, group discussion, reading and writing stories, throughout the year. This class can be taken by 9th to 12th graders.

Grace Yu魚書宇Selected Readings in Chinese Poems and Writing Practice一首詩的故事~古今詩詞賞析與習作詩詞是歷代中國文學中璀璨的瑰寶,本課程選擇數首適合中學生閱讀古今詩詞,以主題式的教學方式引導學生認識、欣賞詩詞的內容,進而實際進行習作;也藉由背誦、吟唱的方式來領略古今中文詩詞之美。Chinese poems deliver authentic beauty of Chinese literature. With selected readings from ancient to modern, this course opens a door to the world of Chinese poems in structure, rhythm, and contents, and enables students to use precise and brief words in Chinese writing. 新詩習作:25% 課堂表現(朗讀、吟唱):20% 分組討論:25% 期中期末考:30%

HO, Yun何昀Story Teller誰來說故事你每天的生活是不是也離不開FB、IG、LINE?每天從這些社群軟體接收的照片、新聞、訊息大概有數百則之多吧?生活在這個因新媒體*崛起而訊息傳播速度極快的時代,我們看到的訊息是真實的、正確的,還是遭人刻意包裝傳播的?同時,當大多數的人都只想看照片、圖片以快速接收資訊,我們又該如何吸引別人讀完我們寫的文章,聽我們講故事呢?本課程將簡介現代媒體運作的模式,培養媒體識讀能力,藉由採訪寫作、編輯排版等課程訓練,提升中文閱讀理解及書寫表達能力。 *指網路時代中,各式資訊藉由智慧型手機中的社群網站應用程式(APP),如FB、IG、LINE、YOUTUBE等快速傳遞(轉傳散播)文字、照片、影片(直播)的模式。 課程包含以下單元: 1. 媒體素養:培養識讀媒體訊息之能力,辨析真假訊息,建立多元視角。 2. 採訪寫作:觀摩報導文學的傑出作品,練習蒐集寫作材料、尋找採訪對象,寫成自己的報導作品。 3. 編輯排版:觀摩各式雜誌、新興地方誌、社區報等刊物,鑑賞排版特色與取材方向,應用在自己的報導作品中。There are so many pictures and messages spreading on FB, IG, LINE etc. in daily life. How can you be sure the information feed by the apps is true? How if someone made up these messages and photos for unknown intention? On the other hand, people do not expect long paragraph of text on these social media. They only focus on pictures and short messages. What can you do to get attention from others when you have a brilliant story to tell? The aim of the course is to help students to develop the ability of media literacy, interview, editing and writing skills.1. 學習態度:出席率、課堂聽講態度、討論參與程度等。 2. 平時作業:學習單、資料蒐集、短文及長文寫作等。 3. 期中報告。 4. 期末報告。

Savannah Li李慧中Appreciation and Creation of Chinese Calligraphy Cursive Script行草的賞析與創作「行草的賞析與創作」是結合書法藝術欣賞書寫與經典作品閱讀的中文課程。在課程中,學生會實際來欣賞、分析歷代經典的行草作品,了解書法中的線條韻行之美;同時藉由閱讀經典作品的文本內容,了解書法家如何藉由文字來傳遞訊息、表達情意。課程中有50%為書法的習寫、臨摹與創作,另外50%的課程則是以書法本知識、行草欣賞課程、行草經典作品閱讀為主。“Appreciation and Creation of Chinese Calligraphy Cursive Script” will be focusing on the appreciation and reproduction of Cursive Script classical works. Students will learn how to recognize Cursive Script and appreciate the classical work of Cursive script. Furthermore, students will also learn to read the content of the work. At the end of semester, students will need to create their own cursive script work. 1. Personal project and research paper 2. Cursive Script Reproduction and Creation 3. Introduce the historical sites and the ecological landscape in Hsinchu city and county in order to lead students to explore and understand the environment they live.
Read the novel written by a famous writer who expresses his nostalgia and love for Hsinchu, his hometown, by telling his living culture and childhood experience in this city.
