Signing up instructions:

1) This volunteer opportunity is open to MESA students and friends of MESA.

2) Enter in applicable information.

3) You will be e-mailed a confirmation ~1 week prior with any new details and to pick up your SDSU MESA shirt (per your sizing above).

Expectations:

1) Pizza and drinks should be delivered by 10:00 am by CAC staff. No guarantees leftovers for the 2nd and 3rd rotation spots.

2) Setup room:

(.ppt presentation, masking tape strip on floor for starting point line of test blowing rocket, tables in groups of 3, at least 10 groups)

3) Setup soda straw paper rocket supplies for groups of 3

(scissor and scotch tape to share within each group, but each student gets a rocket template, pencil, and straw)

4) Students and their teachers will arrive. Help them settle down.

5) Introduce everyone and MESA program really quickly, use .ppt presentation as guide.

6) Help students building the soda straw paper rockets and explanation of rockets via .ppt

7) Read/go through the .ppt while kids are working on rockets

8) and then have the students test rockets to see who can blow the farthest.

9) Award prize based on answering questions from .ppt or blowing rocket? (Optional, depending on CAC staff provided or not)

10) Break down and clean-up (kids only take rocket and straw, please leave pencils and all other supplies)

11) Setup again for next rotation and repeat process, until last rotation.
