SportsTo find out about sports, see the link in col C. You will need to get a wrist band for almost anything you use the gym for by going to the UC fitness desk and having them slide your card. You can checkout towels, squash, tennis rackets, basketballs, etc - whatever you can think of. Lockers for rent, laundry service.http://www.cmu.edu/athletics/Note: there are two gyms: the UC main gym, which has everything including the pool, and the Skibo gym (free weights), which requires a different wrist band, also a basketball court, and a few other facilities. Checkout the working hours from the main page

Some events are not advertised on email, so you might want to check their website regularly. Open to all CMU grad students, usually packed, but a lot of fun. You can also volunteer to represent CSD at GSA - contact them for more info.https://stugov.andrew.cmu.edu/gsa/

Conference roomsYou can reserve a conference room in Gates - talk to your adviser's admin person, or the admin person on the 6th floor by the mailboxes, ask politely! Should have a "reasonable reason" for reservation. Or use the fancy reservation devices outside the conference rooms. Your office key should get you into almost all conference rooms.

BussesShow CMU ID as you board, or if they have their hand on the coin machine (4pm-6pm or so, away from Downtown), show as you exit. If you show ID as you board, you can request "Back door please" if you are stuck at the back when you need to get off. Not all drivers open it though. Just shout that you are "still coming out" if it seems they are about to leave. http://www.portauthority.org/paac/default.aspx
