Introduction to your SIP/ School Profile
(appoximately 100 words)
The student population at Piney Point Elementary is 460 students in PreK-5th grade. The percentage of free and reduced is 30% and the special education population is 6.3%. We will continue to focus our efforts on fine-tuning our instructional programs and the MTSS (Multi-Tier Support System) school wide initiatives. We focus on the needs of the students and provide enrichment and remediation to students by closely monitoring the data. We are committed to providing our students a positive and nurturing environment built on developing strong relationships of respect, support, and trust between the adults and the students. Student behaviors (showing respectful, responsible, and ready behaviors- 3Rs) are recognized and reinforced in the classroom and school wide. As a result of all of our efforts, we have been able to maintain a learning environment in which parents, staff, and students work collaboratively as valued members of the Piney Point community.

Progress Made During Prior Year
(approximately 50 words)
We continue to see some steady growth in ELA and Math scores. Students were strategically placed in interventions/enrichment groups to best meet their needs. Our MTSS initiatives were well received by the staff and students. The 3R's (respectful, responsible and ready behaviors) were consistently reinforced by all staff. Students were recognized using our school wide Piney Points. Student, staff, and parent survey results will help guide our future planning.

Areas of Continued Growth
for Upcoming Year
(approximately 50 words)
An area of continued growth will be in working to increase student attendance as student attendance plays a large part in students' academic progress. We ended the school year with 93.99% attendance with a 94% or greater expected for schools. We will be expanding our MTSS initiatives to include additional parent involvement opportunities and exploring Conscious Discipline in the primary grades. Monthly PLC grade level meetings are designed to focus on county and school initiatives. Re-occurring topics will include Performance Matters, co-planning and co-teaching, and data analysis for target groups and all students. Intervention team meetings will be held to examine student progress throughout the year using RTI.
