10	t	The Verge reports Google announced today an Android Wear smartwatch app for iOS. The app allows Android watches to work with an iPhone for notification mirroring, cards from Google Now, multiple watch faces, a few native apps, voice search and fitness tracking. The app works with the Huawei Watch, the Asus ZenWatch 2, and the LG Watch Urbane to start and new watches as they are released. 11	v	Mark Gurman of 9 to 5 Mac reports that the new Apple TV will have "deep support" for gaming, including the ability to use the bundled remote as a game controller. The remote will have built-in motion sensors, so it can be used as a steering wheel in racing games, and it will use bluetooth instead of Infrared. The Apple TV will also be compatibile with past Bluetooth game controllers meant for phones. 12	t	The Competition Commission of India has filed a report accusing Google of abusing its dominant position to rig search results according to The Economic Times. The charges come after complaints from Bharat Matrimony, Consumer Unity and Trust Society, Flipkart, Facebook, Microsoft and others. The commission accuses Google of unfairly prioritizing proprietary content and paid links. If found guilty the CCI can fine Google up to 10% of its income and also pursue its executives individually. 13	v	Reuters reports that Ashely Madison says it is still signing up new users despite hacker leaks. Parent company Avid Life Media has said hundreds of thousands of people signed up in the last week including 87,596 women. A statement from the company said "Recent media reports predicting the imminent demise of Ashley Madison are greatly exaggerated. 14	t	Engadget reports on a video from Clubic.com in which a marketing director from Sony said the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 phone will be the first smartphone with a 4K screen. He said the company will release both a 5.2-inch Z5 and 5.5-inch Z5 'Premium,' phone. 15	v	Tech Crunch reports on the introduction of the LG Watch Urbane Luxe with 23-karat gold plating and an alligator leather strap. LG will make 500 of these watches at $1500 each. 16	t	Crackdown time: T-Mobile USA's CEO John Legere wrote an open letter to customers who abuse unlimited data. T-Mobile offers 7GB of tethered data/month when users sign up for the unlimited data plan. Legere says certain users are purposefully hiding their tethering activity by hacking their phones, with some using up to 2TB of additional tethering data. T-Mobile has identified 3,000 users that might lose their unlimited data plans if they don’t change their behavior. 17	v	According to The Next Web, Sony has a new smartwatch with a dumb display. The Wena Wrist (Wena stand for Wear Electronics Naturally) has a traditional watch face, with a smartband that lets users track their activities, make NFC payments, and receive notifications from their iOS phones through vibration of LED alert light. Sony says the smart band will last a week on a single charge. The base model will cost roughly $287, with a Premium Black Chronograph going for $576. 18	t	tremoloqui pointed out a Hackaday article noting that a proposed rule from the US FCC meant to secure wireless routers could prevent 3rd-party router software like DD-WRT. The proposed rule would require 5-GHZ radios in routers allow only properly authenticated software to run. 19	v	Fortune reports that Qualcomm’s next-gernation Snapdragon 820 processor will use Zeroth neural networking technology to adapt to and detect security threats on phones. Snapdragon Smart Protect, as the product will be called, will use machine learning combined with information shared by security software makers through an API. 20	t	And finally Apple and Cisco announced a strategic partnership to optimize how networking gear works with iOS devices as well as collaborate on products and services. Large companies and governments spent $49 billion with Cisco in its last fiscal year. 39		Tom and Jennie: On Friday’s show you were discussing the possible uses of VR. You mentioned Home Depot using it visualize remodel projects. We have been using it to walk clients through designs for commercial office space and it has been a very successful tool for that purpose. One of the most difficult aspects of our work is to get people who do not normally look at drawings to understand how a space will look and feel and this tool has allowed the decision making and design approval process to improve a great deal. 41		Kris noticed when he set up Google music’s adapt sound with his Note 5 on stock headphones it made a lot of adjustments. He found it odd because usually he can hear tones others can’t. He writes “As soon as I got home I went through the adapt sound setup once more but this time I used a set of Westone w60 headphones and this time adapt sound gave me a very high rating and didn’t seem make any adjustments.” He’s going to use this to prove to his wife and others that quality headphones do make a difference.

43		Eddie from "Man it is really time for fall to get here already, Austin TX" -- On Friday's show you got email about using the voice activated phrases on the show. ...this always makes me giggle, but that is probably because I get more amusement out of people's annoyances than I probably should. But anyway, I wanted to write in and let you know that since enabling Siri, I have had shows on Netflix and books played via audible mistakenly due to a phrase that roughly resembles the trigger phrase. The most notable one was when someone on Netflix I was watching said "They seriously". So, I agree there needs to be improvement accross the board. But until then my inner 12 year old will snicker every time I hear a trigger phrase spoken.
