Whakarongo: Listen to story and follow along with your eyes (not voice) at least twice a day until you fell you can read the text independently. Record how often you have listened to the text (between 4-10 times).

Whakaraupapa: Text-sequencing activity. Read and arrange the text into the right order. You are reading for meaning and checking comprehension.

Tuhituhi: The writing activities encourage you to think about...
*What you have read
*Comprehend and interpret the text
*Identify text structures.

Takitahi: This is your independent practice. Once you decide that you are able to read the story independently without the audio tape you can either decide to complete an activity, request a conference with me.

Tākaro: This is an activity (pairs game) that you can do to read text again in another context, get further practice in comprehending and organising the text and/or following instructions. You can also request to make your own board game up.

Tiriwā: Is a clozed activity where you fill in the gaps in a text.

Matapaki: This is a teacher-initiated conference. Once completed you'd enter the date in the column for the matching text.
