This incident also confirmed that the Babariyas, who were previously involved in killing tigers in India and trafficking to Nepal, had started killing tigers in Nepal in cahoots with Nepali poachers. Shrawan Kumar Babariya, Dukharam Dagaura Tharu, and Aganu Dagaura Tharu: sentenced to 15 years in jail and fined Rs 100,000 (US$858) . Shrawan Kumar Babariya, Dukharam Dagaura Tharu, and Aganu Dagaura Tharu: sentenced to 10 years in jail and fined Rs 50,000 (US429). They never came to serve the jail term. The trio who were serving the jail term appealed at Dipayal High Court. On Feb 27, 2018, judges of the court Durga Bahadur Biswakarma and Shreekant Paudel reduced the jail term to 10 years citing they were not professional criminals, had admitted the offence and also helped in the legal process as well as they were using only domestic tools to kill tiger rather than any other modern equipment. They appeared to the Supreme Court but their sentence remained unchanged as the apex court upheld the verdict of the High Court

Hidden behind sacks of rice were five tiger pelts and six large sacks with 512 pieces of tiger bones, skulls and claws and 122 fangs. Conservationists calculated that the contraband must have come from at least 31 dead tigers. Police raided Dime’s house and confiscated a large haul of wildlife contraband, eight passports and Rs4 million. Dime was finally caught in New Delhi in 2017 after the Indian CIB found he was involved in poaching tigers in Madhya Pradesh. He was extradited to Nepal in 2018 and sent to the District Jail in Nuwakot to serve his five year sentence. But Dime appealed at the Supreme Court where the bench of Justices Mira Khadka and Dambar Bahadur Shahi decided to release him on only Rs45,000 bail. Dime then disappeared.Suka Bahadur Tamang was sentenced to 9 years in jail and fined Rs 60,000 (US$512), and Naukul Tamang was fined Rs 100,000 (US$828)
