5	Translation	Translating basic gardening information into a language other than English. Proofreading other people's translations. This is not comprehensive translation work; we know we probably need a specialist for that. The volunteer position is meant for basic diagrams and infographics. We welcome all languages. 6	Cultural curator	We are planning a website update and want to show how gardening supports many cultures and people. Do you have a garden related story from your culture to share? A special traditional or non-traditional recipe? Show us how your garden helps you support your culture!	Everyone is welcome to contribute	This is ongoing, no need to sign up. Contact gardening@usask.ca to see if your idea fits in our next update plans.
7	Growing zone interviews	We would like to collect stories from people who garden here (or who want to learn to garden here) who are new Canadians. Related to this, if you garden here and have significant experience gardening in a very different climate, we'd love to hear your story too!	Everyone is welcome to contribute. You can either share your story, or interview other gardeners!	Contact gardening@usask.ca	We want to know why you garden and how gardening here compares to gardening there. Kim will provide a list of suggested questions.
8	Photos	Click on tab at the bottom of this sheet that says "Photos" for detailed descriptions.	None, though ideally photos are submitted with accurate plant IDs listed	This is ongoing, no need to sign up. See Photos tab for details.	Ensure that you collect waivers if you're taking photos of people. See "Photos" tab for details.
9	Diagrams	Click on tab at the bottom of this sheet that says "Diagrams" for detailed descriptions.	We need two kinds of help here: Research help/planning and Artistic help. You can do one or both! 10	Recipes	People to research and review specific types of recipes, as assigned. eg. carrot tops, grape leaves, pea shoots, fermentation	At minimum, research and writing of recipe. Ideally, a willingness to create and photograph the completed food item.	Contact gardening@usask.ca
11	Painted eggs	Painting various craft eggs to represent common birds of the Prairies for educational demos. Supplies provided.	Must come to Saskatoon to get supplies. Must be a good painter with access to the internet for suitable images to paint from.	Contact gardening@usask.ca
12	Samples of tree and root issues for demo (eg. beaver stump)	Aquire samples of unusual tree or root damage or deformities for educational demonstrations.	Have legal access to trees, ability to get a manageable sample safely, and ability to bring samples to Saskatoon. We can possibly arrange pick up or shipping too for key samples. 13	Plant ID	Reviewing images and providing lists of plant names in image via caption or map. Common names only, cultivar names not necessary.	Strong plant ID skills	Contact gardening@usask.ca
14	Yard tours	Collect photos and/or videos of nice yards in the prairies or northern Canada	Cell phone video, horizontal. See Photos tab for detailed information on best practices and submission	This is ongoing, no need to sign up.	When you send in your submission, please include the general location. These will be going on our yard tours tab on the website in the next set up updates. (eg. Alameda, SK. or southern Manitoba) and possibly the first name of the homeowner depending on homeowner's comfort level.
15	Container patrol	Take photos of containers that catch your eye and, ideally, list what plants are in them. If you are unsure of your plant ID, we may pair you with a plant ID volunteer.	A cell phone camera and plant ID skills.	This is ongoing, no need to sign up. See Photos tab for details.
16	Dream job	We would like to add a lot of visual education to our website - infographics, diagrams, printable activities, adult coloring pages, etc. The list of visual education ideas is endless (eg. fun facts about bugs, planting bee friendly yards, best alternative groundcovers, etc). Is there something you wish we had on our site? Suggest it to us and maybe you can help make it for us! Yes, you can pick one of the ideas I mentioned here if you want to. Volunteers will research approved ideas and plan out the visual presentation. We may have artistic support for you if you need it.	Master gardener classes completed or higher education completed. This will require research to prepare. If you don't feel comfortable with the artistic portion, we can match you with an artistic volunteer. If you would prefer to work independantly, you can sketch out your ideas and then send them to us and we will pass them along to an artistic volunteer.	Pitch your idea to gardening@usask.ca
