11	The scholarships in this document are divided into categories so that searching for applicable ones will be easier. The categories are shown
12	on tabs along the bottom. Each category and a brief desciption are as follows:

14	Category	Description

16	General	Scholarships that will apply to the majority of the students. These are not dependent on course of study, financial need, gender, or race.
17	Local	Scholarships that are given from local groups and in the local area.
18	TN Based	Scholarships that apply to residents of Tennessee and /or students who plan to attend a Tennessee university.
19	Sciences	Scholarships for students planning to study in the following areas: science, math, engineering, aviation, medical, agriculture, computer science.
20	Social Sciences	Scholarships for students planning to study in the following areas: business, food service / hospitality, criminal justice, education, journalism, and vocational areas.
21	Humanities/Arts	Scholarships for students planning to study in the following areas: art, music, film, photography, and publishing.
22	Need Based	Scholarships for students who have a financial need.
23	Military	Scholarships for students that are planning on entering a military program as well as for students who are dependents of both active and retired military personnel.
24	Special	Special scholarships based on items such as gender, race, death of parent, medical conditions, and hobbies (i.e. ham radio operator).
25	Helpful Websites	Websites that contain helpful information concerning online colleges, avoiding freshman mistakes, understanding student loans, and more.
26	Contests	Contests with monetary awards for high school students. Most of these are for grades 9-12.
27	Juniors	Scholarships that are specifically for high school juniors.
