We want to know how to maximise the potential for open data on land to be used for the common good. Shared Assets was set up to help groups like sustainable food growers, woodland managers, waterways projects, community renewable energy projects, and managers of parks and other public spaces. These groups are doing great things with land, but often have little or no access to quality land data that could help them fulfill their potential.

We have interviewed a diverse range of groups about their key information needs. The second worksheet summarises the information needs they have described, and the datasets that have been identified so far for each. The third worksheet introduces some of the online platforms for accessing land data we have found. We've also started displaying some of this data, along with information on how to use it, at www.landexplorer.uk
