Bad fingerprint reader (a widly known issue). Clunky UX, all around. My base level anxiety is up all the time because of how badly executed this device is, where even the most simple interactions are fumbled. I ordered this exact dress but in a pattern over a year ago. I needed a dress for a wedding and so I ordered one I thought I knew would work, but in green.
The first dress was delayed, but I noticed I could order one size up and get one day shipping.
Since the dress was a size up it is important to note that the dress was not tight. I was disappointed when the dress showed up and the fabric was super thin and they added almost 5 inches to the bottom of the dress so it did not lay nicely on the petticoat. I was able to hem it.
However the real problem began at the wedding. My zipper kept randomly splitting. I spent almost the whole wedding trying to fix my zipper. And the worst part was that the zipper was on the side so I couldn't even hide it. Again this dress was not tight in the slightest since I had to size up. Phone is slower than the speed of smell. Lags freezes unlocks half way. Aggravatingly slow trying to load a GPS or download files. What kind of phone comes with only 30 gigs of memory? Just the operating system on the phone takes a third of the phones memory. 5 apps and and 200 pictures the memory is full already. Didn't even bother with the fingerprint reader because the screen can't figure out where your pressing anyways. Battery last 3 days if you don't open the phone for 3 days. My Pixel 5a died after only 3 years but I still wanted to stay with Pixel phones. I found this Pixel 8 still at the Black Friday sale price so I bought it. When I first started the phone the battery had to be charged and when I did the phone heated up, but after I downloaded all of the updates for the phone the heat issue disappeared. It seems to stay cool when watching videos too. I like all the improvements they made since the pixel 5 series. The battery lasts me a few days since I usually don't use it that much. I have the battery optimization set to only charge to 80% so it will last longer. Screen is beautiful. I'm surprised how fast this phone starts after being shut off. I used pixel 1, pixel 5 for years and had google replace them several times for power issues several times, as i recall. recently, i bought pixel 8 from google store and pixel * pro from amazon. I bought this phone because my old Samsung of 6 years has been slowly dying. When researching this phone I read mixed reviews. Going in I knew this would be a cheeper quality than I'm used to but it shouldn't be that bad. For me I exclusively use the NFC touch to pay option and according to different sources this year model should have NFC, yet this device doesn't. Another feature that it doesn't have is wireless charging, I was aware of this and was planning on getting an adapter so it wasn't the end of the world. The stylus is cheeply made but it is functional to take notes and doodle with. The battery definitely doesn't last 2 days it barely lasted 4 hours before it was at 50%. If you are looking for a phone that take an entire minute to open Facebook messenger, or if you’re looking to wait 10 seconds for your phone to respond to a tap; then this is the phone for you! It is so bad that old apps like Pokémon go crash, and don’t bother trying to get it to track your movement or open up AR features. (Ar doesn’t work, and the motion tracking lags then crashes.) I can not express how terrible this phone is, the UI crashes about every time I attempt to send or respond to a text. When I’m reading articles and things like that it freezes and won’t let me scroll down. It will eventually scroll down super rapidly and crash my browser after about 15 seconds of waiting. I have never left a bad review before, but this phone isn’t even worthy of a single star it is terrible. If you want a faster phone I’d look for something like an original black berry phone or the original flip Motorola razor. I’m telling you this thing performs about as well as the old school smart phones before 4g connections. It is very very slow, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they were insanely patient and don’t mind waiting 15 seconds for your phone to respond to a tap. I bought this phone due to the promise of 7 years OS/security support. I'm really curious about this so called true Android experience. If I can go back in time, knowing what I know now, I would have just stayed with Samsung. As a matter of fact, this will more likely be the last Pixel phone that I will buy. Pixel doesn't have a dedicated music player. I actually had to buy a music player app from playstore just to have a music player. In Samsung, you can screenshot the entire page by scrolling down. This one, sometimes it works on other page, sometimes it doesn't. And the magic eraser, Samsung's magiic eraser works better. One day, my videos started stuttering on pixel 8. I decided to uninstall Google photos app thinking it just needs to be reinstalled only to find out that the cause of the stuttering is because I was using a Bluetooth headphone. Seriously, my S20 FE never had that problem, but this one does. Unless they fix all of these annoyances, I will never buy a pixel phone ever again. I've been using the Pixel 8 Pro as my primary phone for just over 1 year now, after previously using the Pixel 5 and Pixel 2. The Pixel 5 was amazing, so I am extremely disappointed by all the problems with the Pixel 8 and will consider switching to another brand for my next phone.

The biggest problem is the Pixel 8 freezes and restarts randomly while using it. This happens seemingly at random times, sometimes not happening for 2 or 3 months, and other times happening every few days. I did not root the phone or do install anything outside of apps from the Google Play Store. I'm mainly a PC user so the only apps I use on my phone are Chrome, the Google news feed, a few messaging apps. I also have a few games installed like Genshin Impact, but I only open it on my phone rarely to make purchases for bonus Google Play points and I do all the gameplay on a PC. The freezes happen seeminlgy at random, including with Google maps and the built-in camera app that comes with the phone when I was trying to take a picture.

The Pixel 8 also heats up a lot and burns through battery very quickly when actively using it, even though I disabled the full resolution and 120hz. When travelling and constantly using my phone to look things up, the battery couldn't even last a whole day from morning to night. The Pixel 5's batter was actually better and could last a whole day. With light use though, I can get 3 days of use before having to charge my phone - my Pixel 5 was the same when it was new, but after 3 years the battery could only hold about half as much charge since I had used it for gaming before switching to Android emulators on PC.

The fingerprint scanner also doesn't work well in completely dark rooms, or right after picking it up after a few hours of inactivity. It seems like it always fails the first try or two. I registered my both my thumbs twice, which normally works fine throughout the day.

I considered trying to upgrade to a Pixel 9 to see if it wouldn't have as many problems, but it would be a gamble as well and Google's trade-in only offered $200 for this $1000 phone 12 months after launch. Guess you don't get anything for brand loyalty lol.

I'll probably stick with this phone for another year or two since when it's not freezing and I'm not using it heavily, it works well. However, I feel like all the problems are unacceptable considering its premium price point. I got a motorola phone a couple years ago and it served me well, but it was slowing down and finally got finished off by some water damage. So I decided to replace it. Turns out the newest model doesn't have expandable storage. It says it does, but it doesn't actually expand anything. You cannot put apps on the expandable storage, so the tiny internal storage is all you get. I thought 32 gigs was fine because expandable storage would make up for the shortfall - NOPE! Because motorola decided to make an "upgrade" worse than the previous model.

I wanted to love the jeans but I may have purchased the wrong size. Initially bought my regular size but they were oddly tight in the knees and I knew it would bother me so I returned them for one size larger. They fit great UNTIL I wore them for about 2 hours and the struggle began. I was hiking them up every few minutes and by the end of the day the hem was dragging on the floor. I guess I'll keep them as they are comfy and the price was right but I'll only wear to events that last a few hours. Don't see myself buying a second pair.  I had a Google pixel 3a for 4 years. I absolutely loved that phone so when it came time for a new one phone I didn't hesitate to go with the pixel 8. I don't really feel the same about this newer version. Some things I didn't like are: there is no back button, the swipe to return to the previous screen is clumsy and I find myself trying repeatedly to go back before it does. Sometimes I'm stuck and that is frustrating. The fingerprint sensor is not sensitive enough and I have to put my pin in often when I wake up the phone. I didn't know where the issue lies (with the phone or carrier) but every 3-4 days I have to reset the APN because all of the sudden I can no longer send texts to multiple recipients or include emojis or pictures. I'm assuming it's the phone since I had no trouble before the switch. I'm not super tech savvy but what I know is that I have problems that I didn't have before. No, I wouldn't recommend it. If I could give a half star it would get a 3.5 rating

UPDATE: Biggest piece of junk. I've had this phone for 2.5 months and I have felt like throwing it as far as I can countless times. All of the issues above plus many times when I'm trying to login it WILL NOT give me a keyboard. The only way I've found to get past that is to power down and back up. I absolutely love this phone. The other reviews complain about battery, it last like 2 weeks for me lol. And complaints about prop 65. But that is any phone. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a battery charging block. Just the usb-c cable. They used to come with that block but now they don't. I have been buying all motog phones for years. I just started using a Pixel 7 Pro, to replace the Moto G Play that stopped working properly. The interface on the Motorola runs rings around the Pixel -- try activating the camera flash or the self-timer on both phones; simple and easy on the Motorola. Many things are easier on the Motorola: three-finger screen captures. Unfortunately, a good phone should also last longer than five months. The G Play stopped holding a charge for more than a few hours of use, and took longer and longer to charge, making it unusable. The money saved from buying a G Play isn't really any saving when the phone is only working correctly for a short time. Works well and I love the google AI that screens calls. It's very human sounding and works better than any other call screen service I have ever used.

****IMPORTANT NOTE**** Asurion is a scam. In my experience, If you ever have to file a claim they will make the process as difficult as possible. When you sign in to the app to file a claim you have to sign in three separate times. The form they want you to fill out does not self-populate your name, address, phone # etc. You’ll then need to enter various other information, and they want a pic of both the front and back of your driver’s license (remember, you logged in with a UN and PW). Once you upload all of this, they tell you it will take 24 business hours to review. First, they reject the form stating you must print and sign the form even though it says you can sign electronically. If you call their number, they will place your call on hold for a while and initially an automated message will attempt to tie up your call having you answer various questions. Eventually someone in a foreign country will answer your call. The initial person will try to sell you additional services and after you say no a couple times, they will transfer you to someone else. You guessed it, you will have to be on hold again. You will get transferred and placed on hold several more times and they will find a way to deny your claim. What is especially frustrating is you have followed all their directions along the way. They can (and will) raise service fees without any notice. In the end, you will not save any money and have spent far too much time submitting forms and talking to people that lie and misdirect you every step of the way. The company’s employees are dishonest and have no problem lying to you. You can give it a try if you want but you have been warned. Instead of paying their monthly fee dump the money in a savings account. Odds are you’ll be able to buy a new product that’s updated, and you will receive it in a couple of days instead of weeks later. Asurion Protection is a scam. I am not picky when it comes to phones, but I will say this is my most disliked phone. I'm too lazy to want to set up a new phone right now, and this phone at least takes care of my basic needs. I knew the storage wouldn't be great from the description, but I didn't realize how bad it actually would be haha. I try deleting so many things but haven't been able to get the "storage running out" notification gone since 2 weeks after I got it (that was 4 months ago, even with an SD card for photos). I am sure it is a reason contributing to why the phone runs slow. The keyboard is also super glitchy. Not super impressed, but I guess you get what you pay for. Not sure what happened when they created this pixel 8 pro. It's faster than the pixel 5 and a little more battery life, but the fingerprint security is awful. Most of the time it doesn't work. I picked out this dress for the dark black and bold blue color as advertised. What I received was definitely not the same colors and reminded me more of a man's work shirt. I tried it on to see if a different color would maybe work out better. I didn't actually lace up the back of it but when I pinched it for a more fitted look, it was definitely too big. The jeans look great fit fine and everything considering the price but when I tried them on I felt like I was infested with fleas. I didn’t see anything on me but it spread to my shirt and then it felt like it was in my throat. Idk what that was but be super careful with putting them on. I haven't even had this phone for a full two months and it will not last a full day. My past two moto phones took years of use to get to that point. The storage is awful. There are a ton of unused apps and processes that I don't know of or want, but I also can't fit the apps that actually plan on using everyday. Let alone storage for photos and the like. My last two phones I was capable of continuously running multiple apps at a time with no issue. Not the case on this one at all. As soon as my phone shuts off, I have to wait for whatever app I'm using to reload every time I come back to my phone. And forget about going back and forth between apps. As you can imagine this makes it very difficult to listen to music or podcasts because they crash as soon as my phone turns off. Very upset with this phone. My favorite phone was the motorola ecruise. I loved that phone. Sadly phone phone died and I had to replace it. I bought the moto g play and I expected it to be similar. I paid 60$ for the ecruise in 2018 and 120$ for the moto g play in 2023. I figured that this updated one should be slightly better even though it was still at the bottom. It is not better. Now in Feburary of 2024 (~6 months later), the phone is impossible to use. I don't have that many apps on this phone but it is running so slow I can't use it. It takes minutes for the keyboard to pop up so that I can simply send a Text! It's glitchy and slow and slow and slow. The first 6 months of owning this phone, connecting to anything with bluetooth was a nightmare. They finally fixed it with a software update in June. But now the Internet connection (any wifi network or data in any location) will randomly go out for just my device and no one else. I have to turn off the connection for a minute to reset it and then connect again. It's 2024 and these should be basic features that just work. Yes it can be corrected fairly quickly but I really shouldn't have to deal with this whatsoever.
