For levels 11-16, the numbers for Hourly Salary and Benefits are based on a 40-hour week; for levels 51, 53, and 55, the Postal Service is figuring a six-day week, so the hourly pay rate reflects that, but the total hours of operation are for five days.

For levels 2 and 4, the hourly rate is the new hire rate ($11.76 plus benefits); for Level 6, the hourly rate is not the new hire rate ($12.30) but the incumbent rate. The Postal Service's assumes that "there will be a large number of incumbents from current Level 55 that will occupy those positions, and therefore uses the Incumbent Projected Salary and Benefits scale rather than the New Hires Projected Salary and Benefits scale."
