American Legion's George C. Evans Post 103$1,000 (eight available)03/16/18Awarded to high school seniors with a 2.5 and above GPA. The scholarships can be used for any institution of higher learning (vocational school, technical college, or 2 or 4 year university/college), but it must be used within one year of award.To help clarify, there are two primary categories of applicants:
1) any descendant of Post 103 Veteran regardless of where that descendant lives. For example, a Post member's granddaughter who lives in Florida could apply if she has a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

2) Any senior who is a descendant of a honorably discharged veteran and that student lives in the Post service area (see highlighted area on page 5 of the application info). The US veteran related to that student can be his/her parent, grandparent or great grandparent and can live anywhere or can even be deceased. We just need to establish a linkage from the student to the veteran. We want to be as inclusive as possible - including adopted, step parents, etc. Applications available in the counseling office.
