Edna Flores-Lagunte Memorial Scholarship$800This $800 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who shows high academic achievement, outstanding citizenship, and performs service to their school and community. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 Weighted Total GPA. They must take at least 2 years in a performance arts class (marching band, instrumental, band, orchestra, choir, color guard, theater). One semester of performing arts class must be during the senior year.
This scholarship honors Edna Flores-Lagunte. Edna played the Clarinet and Alto Sax in the Redlands Terrier Marching Band and Wind Ensemble during her 3 years at RHS. She was a member of the Daisy Chain as a junior and graduated from RHS in 1991. Edna went on to graduate from UC Irvine In 1996 with a double major in Biological Sciences and Social Ecology.
One of Edna's passions is AIDS Lifecycle, which is a 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The ride raises money for medical care and social services to those living with HIV. Edna participated in this ride 13 times. However in 2014 during the ride Edna suffered a cardiac arrest and unfortunately passed away on June 8, 2014. We will all remember Edna's beautiful smile and enthusiasm she shared with all of us.

The Rotary Club of Redlands - Rhodes Family Scholarship$24,000This $24,000 scholarship (funded over four years) may be awarded to a graduating senior who demonstrates excellent academic achievement and has represented their high school through successful participation in extracurricular competitive programs or teams successfully competing at the district, county or state level including interscholastic academic teams, athletic teams or visual/performing art teams. (Pandemic related impact of extra-curricular activities should be noted) Note: there are many types of high school teams and programs that qualify, but those that are the closest aligned to the intent of this scholarship include extracurricular programs and teams that: 1) Are sanctioned by an entity such as the District, County Superintendent of Schools, a specific governing body, overseen by CIF, or have an official adjudication board for high school programs, 2) Have majority of practices and competitions held outside of school, and 3) Have the opportunity for multiple competitive events against other high schools or districts each year. Examples of programs that are strongly aligned include, but are not limited to: high school CIF athletic sports teams, Mock Trial, Speech and Debate, Academic Decathlon, competitive marching band, Science Fair, competitive choir. The student must have attended high school in the Redlands Unified School District for all four years and have a GPA of 3.7 or above or is in the top 15% of their class. This scholarship will be paid in four payments of $6000.00 over four years upon proof of full-time enrollment in an accredited college. A letter of recommendation is required from a team advisor, coach or teacher for this scholarship. Letter of recommendation must address the following: What contribution(s) has this student made that betters their high school as a result of their participating on the team/program you advise. In 500 words or less, please write an essay that addresses the following: 1) The extra-curricular competitive high school teams and/or programs you have participated on; 2) What you have learned from representing your high school to other communities; 3) How you anticipate these lessons will lead to your success in college.YES

Zoran Dragomirovic Water Polo Scholarship funded by The ABCDE Rios Family Endowment$500This $500 scholarship will be given to a graduating REV senior. Zoran has a passion for water polo and the development of players at all levels. His commitment to the sport and challenging students to become tenacious at executing their skill levels is evident by his large influence on players and accomplishments in the short decade he has been coaching.
