Lady Mustangs Tennis Team alone at the top
The Lady Mustangs Varsity Tennis Team took on the Lady Bulldogs of Ceres High in Mountain House on Wednesday in a match of un-beaten teams. Both came in at 5-0 and after a very tough match, the Lady Mustangs emerged victorious and now sit alone at the top of the WAC standings at 6-0. The Mustangs jumped on top early and kept the lead by winning #5 singles (Sana Patel) and #6 singles (Kylie De Croos) in straight sets. Sophomore team captain Saanvi Chilakapati won a tough fought match at #3 singles 6-4, 6-4. #1 singles Elyse Low and #2 singles Katharine Smith both lost in very close matches but the match of day belonged to Sophomore Noor Manjal who came out cold and lost set #1 1-6 but came back strong and won the next 2 sets 6-2, 6-1. After winning 4 of 6 singles matches, the Mustangs needed 1 out of 3 doubles matches to clinch the win but the solid doubles teams of team Captain Ify Ikechiuku & Crystal Chum (#1), Tiffany Deng and Kaitlyn Kim (#2) and Eric Su and Udaiyaa Bommudurai did much better than that by winning all 3 matches in dominating fashion.
