It's nice to see History matter.

2/10/2015 14:59:5055555Loved the engaging activities when learning new things at the same time. Very worth my time to hear what others are doing. Great way of networking with others not in my district. Presenters were fantastic and very much appreciated!!Need more chances to meet.Great learning time.

2/10/2015 15:00:2955555Learning about things that were completely applicable and relevant. Also things that I could take back and use immediately.I feel like dissecting the C3 framework a little more, giving time to dig in, pull apart, and make sense of would be helpful. Especially since it has such an vast ability to transform the way that social studies is taught, having a deep understanding of would be really beneficial.nonenoneno

2/10/2015 15:00:3345455I liked that today was about good instruction and learning as opposed to an overemphasis on technology. It was a good way to model good technology integration. The day was engaging, fun, and pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit (always a good thing). The day was a great balance of giving teachers tools and information to apply now (like geoguesser) and to continue thinking about (like C3 framework).Maybe I overlooked this, but it might be nice to have a location (virtually) for all of these individuals to connect with each other. I think this would be easy to do, but it is nice to have twitter handles, emails, etc. I just know it is nice to expand beyond out districts and be able to do that whenever. Perhaps a Google+ community, or Twitter list. #makeitbetterI don't know if this goes here, but I am going to advocate that you do this for all content areas. Follow up also needs to happen. Pull this group together (maybe even via hangouts or zoom) to have a discussion about what they learned and what they have applied.Great day of learning!

2/10/2015 15:01:4255555The work in SS was really important to me. I feel like this day was very much worth the time spent here, the thoughts I will still be wrestling with in the days to come, and the drive time to get here :)

I think the emphasis on having us work horizontally and be solutions focused was really valuable.
I would like to have a take away of an assignment or goal for the next time - something I will work on and bring back a reflection of the process and outcomes from now to there. Just resources to follow through - maybe a forum or some other form of thread for me to come back to. Something in addition to the Google docs.I'd really like to be a part of Day 2.Thank you! This was perhaps the best PD days that I have ever been a part of.

2/10/2015 15:01:4444454There were chances to put our learning into practice with collaboration. There were times in which the vision was not clear as far as learning goals.Time and further opportunities to put things into practice.

2/10/2015 15:01:5854555I liked the opportunity we had to get together with people in our content area to discuss specific lesson/unit plans, concepts, and resources. Some activities--especially ice-breaker activities (pechaflikr)--can be uncomfortable for certain people. I really liked the specific, implementable strategies I learned today. Successful implementation of the C3 framework will necessitate more examples and specific suggestions. I would have liked to learn more about upcoming tech resources for social studies. A significant amount of our time was not spent on directly tech-related issues. Thank you! :)

2/10/2015 15:01:5855555Loved having an opportunity to collaborate with teachers fro other districts.

GeoGuesser was a lot of fun, liked having group and hands-on activities that don't involve technology I can use with students.
Any other hands-on, non-technology activities that I can use with kids would be great!
14
2/10/2015 15:02:2354455I would have liked more practical hands on suggestions/uses for online resources rather than the C3 Framework. More interactive "projects" that we can take back and incorporate into our classrooms immediately.I would like to see the rest of my school's social studies dept. be involved in a day like this. I thnik they would have benefited from it.
15
2/10/2015 15:02:2745555The chance to visit with other SS teachers and the quick "up and moving" activities. More on how to have students demonstrate what they know.More sessions like this.
16
2/10/2015 15:02:4955555The hands on opportunities and the resources that are useable within our classrooms (the activities from the morning and the break out group discussion).

The flow of the day - moving from activity to activity
The C3 activity was slightly confusing.Continued access to ideas and technology to use in the classroom. Newsletter form or tech videos emailed out so we have new ideas coming towards us.Thank you!

There was an excellent balance between hands-on work and theoretical discussion.
Day 2 session. On-line cohort?
