2023 STROH's Match Play Guidleines
2
3
The STROH's Match Play will be modeled on the WGC Dell Match Play tournament. Starting end of November and running through end of April.
4
Players will compete in small pods, allowing a minimum number of matches per-player before elimination. Winners of each pod will proceed into a single-elimination bracket of no more than 16 players.
5
The goal is to have pools of 4 players, so we will adjust the number of pools, and final single-elimination bracket size according to registration.
6
Pool play matches can end in ties, however elimination matches must determine winner (up to the course if they’ll allow us to play more holes; might have to do a chip or putt off)
7
8
Pod winners will be determined by the following:

Pods will be created off metro to make initial group match-making as easy with the primary goal, participation.
20
Obviously folks living in the same city make sense, but if there are folks that regularly travel between metros, then they could help with pod-play & flexibility.
21
All matches will be net scoring, using calculated course handicaps as of the day of match. The contestants will mutually agree on the tees to be played; players do not have to play the same tees, but be sure to re-calculate handicaps for each player from the correct set of respective tees. All matches until the semi-finals, finals, and consolation match will be played remotely, at any location amenable to both players.
