EVALUATION SCALE
10
Scouting
11
Scale (1-5): "Scouting" is everything that goes into evaluating the true talent of an MLB prospect. Age, ability, scouting reports, etc. What is their ceiling, their floor, and the relative gap between the two? What are the risks? Offense or defense-heavy? MLB player comparisons?
12
13
Scoring
14
Scale (1-5): "Scoring" has everything to do with whether or not the prospect's skills effectively translate to the scoring format of your fantasy league. Speedy players will be more valuable in 5 x 5 leagues, etc. Score the player's talent within the context of your league's rules.
15
16
Impact
17
Scale (1-5): "Impact" is more than just simple MLB ETA. How likely is it that this prospect will be an above replacement level player during the window in which my fantasy team is competitive? Will they contribute real value when I need them to (important for dynasty leagues)?
18
19
Hype
20
Scale (1-5): "Hype" is a measure of perceived value within the industry and especially your own fantasy league, where rankings, lists, and reviews can influence the trend of a player's value over time. A higher score indicates the player has high trade value within your league.
21
22
Cost
23
Scale (1-5): "Cost" is a critical variable in the valuation of any fantasy player, including prospects. For this scale, the lowest score (1) represents a very high cost (either auction salary or draft position) compared to similar prospects in your specific fantasy league.
24
25
INSTRUCTIONS
26
Score each prospect according to the scale (1-5) above where "1" represents a weak (negative) value and a "5" repents a strong (positive) value in each category. The highest scored prospect is your most valuable prospect.
