Food Pantry3/7/2020Can pantry be open in the evenings?5/11/2020I wish we could. Unfortunately, I do not have the funding, volunteers or staffing to be able to provide extended hours. We have struggled to keep it open 4 days a week, 4 hours per day. The days and times chosen were done so after I analyzed course attendance. I wanted to make sure that the pantry was open when we had the most bodies on campus.

Walk Ins4/30/2020Great project for student in need of the services mentioned on the summary,No specific questions.Given the current crisis we are facing with COVID 19, would the project be able to sustain another 60% increase or more? My concern is that more students may need these services as we continue to see a rise in unemployment, small and large businesses closing, and not having financial support outside the college to meet these basic needs.Thank you for making it easier for our students to have access to basic needs.The need is certainly growing. The pantry and food distributions operate at large scale and there is always potential to expand. Consistent and sustainable funding is the biggest limiting factor.

Food Pantry 12/18/20This is such an important program! 97% persistence rate is incredible! How do students learn about the food pantry? You mentioned they are referred by programs like EOPS and others. Do you collect data on how students find out about the program?Yes, the initial intake form asks about other services utilized (not specificly food pantry referals) and we can also see this relationship in the data.We could ask "How did you hear about us?" on the Food Pantry enrollment. We require re-enrollment every semester

Food Pantry12/18/20How has COVID and the shift to online learning affected the food pantry?The food pantry is closed. We are now operating monthly food distributions and providing students a grocery gift card.
