Crosby Scholars, part of Goodwill--Non-profits that provide a variety of services to help people in Iredell County. My job requires a variety of skills, my background is elementary and special education with a master's in higher education and student services. Combines my education skills with my higher education along with communication, computer, etc. I've had to learn about marketing and fundraising, but I get to keep doing career counseling, program design, lesson planning, teaching, and many other things that I love and learning new things every day!

A lot goes on here that I didn't know about until I started working here. There are lots of needs in our community and people are here who want to help. A big part of my job is helping connect people to resources that many of them didn't know were available. If they are looking for a job and want to help people, they should consider working where I work. Students might consider working in the non-profit world, and they don't have to major in a specific field to fit in here.

Nursing make up nearly 30% of staff and there is an increasing shortage of available nurses.

We have been in this community for 34 years and will continue to have presence in the Iredell Community. End of life is something that we all will face at some time. Hospice of Iredell also offers support for children who have had a loss through our Rainbow Kidz program, a grief support group program throughout Iredell County.
