The Ministry submitted that since the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, is under consideration in Parliament, the Ministry is waiting for the passage of this Bill before deciding if a separate Right to Privacy Bill is required.

Previous dropping requests rejected on 23.09.2020, 21.12.2015. At that time, the Committee had felt that the Data Protection Law was being prepared from a different perspective than a Right to Privacy Bill.
