M Laser25121X0252.08335The Medium Laser++ is everything the meta has known it to be. The only weapon that can outclass it is the SRM6++(+) in Damage/Ton + Heat Sinks. It suffers when cooldown is reduced, since it works on high-heat-easy-cooling. The Large Laser is actually a solid contender on damage/heat. The PPC... isn't.

If they do, they are the best Damage per Ton + Heat Sinks in the game. If not, they are still better than everything except a Medium Laser++.SRMs are the most efficient damage per ton outside of the Medium Laser, and by miles. Similar Stats with high damage/heat makes SRMs excel at replacing Medium Lasers when you expect cooling penalties, with nearly double the Damage/Heat on base weaponry or at the ++(+) level. Missiles roll hit zones independently.

Their stability (not shown) is top-tier and their D/T(+HS) are great despite spread.

Their abysmal damage per ton (worse than PPCs!) forces them to leverage those strengths to be used effectively. While LRMs beat them ton for ton in most respects (damage per ton with or without Heat Sinks) and they do so at a superior range, ACs focus that damage onto a single hit zone reliably. In short - have a plan when you use Ballistics.
