Nov. 10th Hansee Hall Can the sinks in the Blaine-Mckee Loft be unclogged? As always, these types of corrective requests need a work order so our team can address them promptly.

Mercer HallThermostat only provides two hours of heat before turning off (regardless of if it has reached the desired temperature), and that is a problem for grad students living alone who try to sleep at night but can’t because it is too cold. From the "heat emails:" The Eco Thermostats, developed in conjunction with consultants and thermostat manufacturer PSG Controls, can reduce total residence hall energy use in HFS’ new buildings by 5 percent, just through smarter room heating. Five percent energy savings for all of the students living with HFS is significant. Because students now interact with their room heater on a regular basis, they are significantly more aware of the energy they are using. HFS hopes that increased awareness of energy use for heat will enhance the students understanding of other resources that can also be conserved, further reducing their carbon impact.
Thank you for committing to energy and carbon reduction by using the Eco Thermostats.

Stevens Court + Mercer HallTrash and Recycling system has changed since last year, and RAs have received many complaints from residents wanting the old system backFrom Custodial Mgmt: In the Summer of 2018, HFS Custodial made the decision to bring all apartments areas into alignment in regards to trash recycling and compost. With the decision to remove trash and recycling from individual apartments, the Stevens Court Community is now similar to Mercer Court Apartments, Nordheim Court, and Cedar Apartments. HFS Custodial has historically not serviced trash and recycling containers inside apartments for any of the apartment communities, including Stevens Court. This decision provides an opportunity for resident to determine their own system for servicing their TRC, similar to life outside/after university living.

Stevens CourtLighting outside building is too dim at night it makes many residents (and RAs) feel unsafeRD Jeff is working on these conversations. Probably the same folks, but have them work with Jeff if they aren't already.
6
Williow Exterior lighting also not sufficient, makes residents feel unsafe at nightHave them speak with their RA/RD who can bring these concerns to the next warranty meeting.

Jan. 10Williow The newly installed security screens don't seem to have any purpose, and really detract from the aesthetic of the room. I'm curious as to their purpose, as it just seems like an eyesore, and makes opening the window much for difficult for cooking (I live in a studio apartment) and ventilation.I'm not sure what they're talking about here. If they're talking about the window screens, those are not for security but to keep bugs out. The NCH project is surrounded by trees so window screens were installed on all residential windows. If they're talking about the window limiters that keep the cranking windows from opening too far, those are in place to keep the windows themselves from over extending, and breaking, causing them to fall to the ground below. Hope one of those answers this student's question!I think this is specifically the metal screens that are offset inside the building on the ground floors. Those are all different from the screens on the other floors. I assume those are different because the actual window is different.

McCartyThere is no good parking access for McCarty Parking is managed by Transportation Services. HFS does not manage or control parking inventory (even if it's located under or near our building).

Hansee Hall Girls shower is always cold! (2nd floor end of McCEE hallway. I confirmed there are no work orders or plumbing requests for the Hansee bathrooms. Depending on the timing of this submission, they may have been one of the first to run the water after the break in which case it may have taken longer than normal for the water to heat up. If this is still an issue, please ask the student to submit a work order.

Hansee Hall Floor 2 has no microwave Placement of microwaves is intentional, and not all floors will have them. The RD can certainly advise on the most proximate microwave for this student's use based on their room location. This might be something that I reach out to the Hansee RD about, just let me know.

McMahon Turn the 8 into a kitchenette for students The 8's current status as a study lounge is the plan for this year. As always, we will gather student feedback as we make future plans for the space.I know there has bee nseveral ideas on what to do with that space. Could you update here what the current plan is and how student feedback is being solicited.

McMahon Could there be lighting add to the old 8 space for studying? The problem here is not lack of fixtures, but lack of bulbs! Several burnt out (when it rains it pours) and we depleted our inventory with initial replacements. The bulbs are not standard, and as a result, we had to place a special order. The order is currently processing and once the bulbs arrive, our maintenance custodian will be replacing the remaining ones!

put an occupied/unoccupied sign on each music room/windows so we know whether or not it's taken
