Each row represents a particular size of an erasure set. For example, row 4 represents an erasure set with 1 data shred and 17 code shreds.

Each column represents a hypothetical scenario where the network conditions only allow a certain percentage of randomly selected packets to be successfully transmitted. For example, column D is labelled 1%, which indicates a scenario where a only 1% of packets successfully reach their target, and the remaining 99% of packets are lost during transmission.

The remaining fields in the body of the table contain the probability of the entire erasure set being recovered, provided the erasure set had the specified size and the specified packet transmission probability.

For example, in cell D4 we find 16.55%. This means if you have an erasure set with 1 data shred and 17 code shreds, plus the probability of any indivudal shred being successfully transmitted is 1%, then the overall probability of the entire erasure set being recovered is 16.55%.

Note that the 70% column illustrates that every erasure set configuration has over a 99% chance of success, as long as shreds have a 70% chance of successful transmission.
