3 | *This applies to Teachers in all subject areas. This does not apply to Building Substitute Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Deans, Counselors, Social Workers, or other positions. 1. All employees new to AHS begin at the "novice" level. 2. When counting years of experience, the following types of positions are counted: paid lead teaching or co-teaching, Principal, or other instructional administrator work (such as Dean or Instructional Coach) in a private, public or public charter preK-12 school. The following types of positions are NOT counted: substitute teaching; teacher assistant; paraprofessional work; tutoring; day-care, nanny, etc.; college/university teaching or adult education; student teaching/intern; or volunteer work. 3. For part-time positions, the FTE will be multiplied by the number of years of experience. For example, someone working 20 hours/week for 2 years will be counted as having 1 year of experience (0.5 FTE X 2 years = 1). 4. If the total years of experience comes to X 1/2 years or less, it is rounded down. If the total years of experience comes to X 3/4 years or more, it is rounded up. | ||||||
