7	2.4 School-Parent Compact As a component of the school-level parent and family engagement policy, each school served under this part shall jointly develop with parents for all children served under this part a school-parent compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards. The school-parent compact shall carry out the following requirements: (20 U.S.C. § 6318[d]). a) Describe the school’s responsibility to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the children served under Title I, Part A to meet the challenging state academic standards, as well as the ways in which each parent will be responsible for supporting their children’s learning; volunteering in their child’s classroom; and participating, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of their children and positive use of extracurricular time. 8	Franklin Elementary School strongly encourages parent attendance at all events and meetings, as well as volunteering in classrooms and throughout the school. Volunteer opportunities are communicated regularly, including before, during, and after school, for various events both inside and outside the classroom. Volunteer applications are available in the front office. The school organizes monthly "Flyer Rally" assemblies to share information about character education and upcoming events. Additionally, Monthly "Family Wednesdays" are held in the morning, giving parents the opportunity to engage in information sessions before visiting their child’s classroom. Parents and caregivers are welcome to schedule appointments to visit classrooms to observe and volunteer. ELAC meetings, with interpreter support, take place four times a year for parents of English Learners. Annual events include: -Back to School Night in September and STEAM Experience Night in May. -School Site Council (SSC) meetings are held eight times a year after school. -Site Governance Team (SGT) meetings occur seven times a year in the afternoon. -Parent conferences take place in the fall and spring to provide updates on students’ educational progress. -PTA General Meetings are held in the auditorium in the mornings. 10	Parent-Teacher conferences are held in the fall and spring to keep parents informed about their child’s academic progress. These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their child's strengths, areas for growth, and goals with the teacher. Parents are encouraged to ask questions, share insights, and collaborate with the teacher to support their child’s learning at home and at school. Your participation helps build a strong partnership to support student success.

12	Franklin Elementary School is committed to maintaining open and consistent communication with families regarding classroom instruction and student progress. Teachers provide regular updates to families about the classroom instructional focus, helping parents stay informed about what students are learning and how they are progressing. Additionally, progress reports and graded student work are sent home periodically, giving parents the opportunity to monitor their child’s academic development and stay engaged in their educational journey. We value the partnership between home and school and encourage families to reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns about their child’s progress.

14	Franklin Elementary School encourages parents to actively engage in their child's education through a variety of opportunities. Parents are welcome to volunteer in classrooms, on the playground, during morning and lunch recess, on field trips, and by participating in parent groups. These opportunities allow parents to support the school community and stay connected to their child’s daily experiences. Parents are also invited to visit the school and classrooms to observe the teaching and learning process. Parent Wednesdays and Principal Chats are special events designed to foster parent involvement and provide valuable insights into the educational journey at Franklin. Additionally, families are encouraged to attend and support student performances and events, such as our Winter Performances, STEAM Experience Night, and annual musical where they can celebrate students' achievements and engage with hands-on learning activities. Your participation makes a positive impact on our school community, and we value your continued support and involvement!
15	4. Ensuring regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff, and, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand. 16	Franklin Elementary School values and welcomes the participation of all families, including those from Title I and diverse backgrounds, and actively encourages input on school programs and initiatives. To foster parental involvement in education, Franklin Elementary offers a variety of programs and events open to all parents and guardians. For example, Franklin Flyer Rallies and Family Wednesdays are inclusive events designed to engage families in school activities and build strong connections within the community. The school provides a designated Parent Room on campus, stocked with helpful resources for families, as well as a Parent Information section on the school website. Additionally, parents are encouraged to get involved through Parent Committees, such as the School Site Council (SSC), Site Governance Team (SGT), PTA, and the Friends of Franklin Foundation, offering valuable opportunities to participate in and support the instructional program. Franklin Elementary prioritizes clear and accessible communication through multiple channels, including email, phone calls, text messages, face-to-face meetings, and virtual meetings. To ensure that all families stay connected, translation services are available for conferences and school events, as well as through all forms of communication, including email, text messages, phone calls, and meetings. Interpreters are present at parent events like Family Wednesdays and ELAC meetings to facilitate communication. School Messenger messages are delivered in var, and mailings and flyers are sent home in the language preferred by parents. With over 10 languages represented at Franklin Elementary STEAM Magnet School, the school works with key communicators from the community to provide written translations for essential information. Additionally, pending SSC approval, Title I parent involvement funds may be allocated to purchase translation headsets and equipment for parent meetings. Families receive regular communication from teachers, including weekly classroom updates and a weekly Parent Newsletter titled "The Franklin Flyer Newsletter", translated into all native languages. This ensures that every family remains informed and engaged, regardless of language background. We value your involvement and look forward to working together to support our students' success!
