After the project intervention, water prices rose but the overall value for households were much higher as well: available water at any time without transportation constraints and higher water quality.

After the water system rehabilitation and upgrading by RANO WASH, the price of water increased, but households now use quality water services: treated water, nearby, uninterrupted and no longer need to pay water seekers or queue for water.

People were looking for water from unsafe sources, so the cost was estimated to be low. In addition, other households were paying for water collection services or queuing for water from a safe source.
The constructed system has allowed households to have treated water services nearby and they no longer need to queue or pay for water. Values that the households did not actually calculate.

Households have paid for water fetching and others are using unsafe sources while the quality of well water in this city is very precarious.
The current system allows households to use local and treated water without interruption.
