|CAREER PLANNING||SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY||PROBLEMS OF STUDENTS||HOW VOLUNTEERS CAN GUIDE|
|Shambhvi||Most of the students are very clear and specific about their career plans and are also very serious to fulfill them, most of them are attending coachings as per their future goals respectively.||Children around according to them are very less responsible for the society around them.||Students want more of practical knowledge than the theoritical knowledge also they do not want to learn the big theories as according to them this theory can now a days be easily found on internet.||These students can be given a session on confidence and also on personality development.|
|Vasant Chaitanya||As I dealt with people of +2 to the most they said that they had a plan but they aren't pursuing the right thing due to there parents .|
Children below 10th said they weren't having any plan yet (4/6 people I dealt)
|Many feel responsible but there actions which show responsibility are none.||1- poverty |
2- lack of proper guidance
4- being aimless
5-distractions dew to social media
|As I have already gone through that stage already and I have seen many of my friends who made mistakes which makes me help them know what is the consequences. As I have a proper vision up now ( as I feel it ). I was an absolute stud then which even helps me know the difficulties at the crux .|
|Students are not fixed on a career yet but have high goals.||They know their duty to keep the society and school clean and take responsibility as a citizen of India.||Students have a small problem in guidance. Of the correct career path according to their talents.||These students just require someone to tell them of different ways to achieve different goals. They need to be first motivated to think you of the box and given the confidence that they can excel in their field of choice.|
|Megha||They have some vague idea about certain things that they have heard about. They say they are studying hard for it. But apparently they are not pretty aware of the career they have chosen in that some of them can't even spell it properly||Most of them said yes||Pressure to complete the syllabus, the fact that they are studying in Bengali medium school, lack of proper infrastructure etc.||They might be doing well in studies but to persue the career of their choice they somewhere need to know basic communication in English which they have alarmingly poor grip on. They were little confused and needed proper guidance.||Many considered they were responsible for the society around them as they could not raise there voice against the society thinking it's in vain. Many think that they are not, when asked for a reason they have vague answers which had no clue with the questions.||Students have been facing problems in education, in proper understanding,in feeding with their parents, in communicating and confidence and leadership.||According to my survey I think almost every other child is facing the problem of public speaking, confidence, sharing and understanding problems with parents and need a bit more clear idea on their career plans. Also they are not really happy with the education system which we follow. So firstly,we can keep a counseling session and ask these students to speak up about their problem in personal. Secondly, we can keep an interactive session where we give a surprise task to students to speak up or to deal in team work under some game and show them some motivational videos to encourage them to follow their interests.|
|lakshay||Very few of them had the clarity plan about their career.||All of them consider their responsibilities towards the society and findd themselves responsible for the same.||Lack in clarity of their aim of life is the major issue. They were very impressed by Modi ji and whatever he says in Man Ki Baat.||They have so security of future, they have dreams but don't know how to realize them. Being not so financially able their diets lack required nutrients.||I have a plan of doing following things -|
Telling them what career options they have and how they can pursue them.
Telling them their responsibilities and rights to be a good citizen.
Make them do some activities that would boos their confidence.
Tell them what all best they can do to have a healthy diet.

They are not treated in a good manner by their family and friends. Depression management is quiet tough for them. Expectations from parents is quite high.||The students should be provided proper education so that they have a goal in their life. Sex education is one of the most important education that needs to be spread amongst students. We can have nukkad nataks to aware the students. Giving presentations to students. Using pictures to demonstrate our motive will be effective. As we know action speaks louder than words therefore we need to take actions as soon as possible.|

|Animesh||Most of the students had a career plan. They were aware of their society and had made up their mind to become something and rise from their current background.||They think they are responsible citizens of the society but actually they were not aware of their responsibilities. This was most common in students of low schools. They need knowledge. The difference lies in the quality of education provided by different schools.||Not much but girls aren't promoted to study in big schools, which was mainly due to less income of the family and low social status. |
While Students of big schools whether girl or boy have no problem in their education.
|1. The students can be given interactive sessions on different kinds of career options available. |
2. They can be taught about their fundamental duties as a citizen of the country.
3. Knowledge about environmental conservation and and cleaning the surroundings and their benefits as well as ways to implement that knowledge would help them as well as the 'Clean India'. They can be made aware about various diseases that rise from unclean surroundings.
Well, knowledge might not be enough, they easily get that in their course books. Interactive sessions suc as showing them the consequences and case studies can help.
4. Hobby classes to make them aware of their potentialities.

Then making the environment clean and green. Not wasting much water. Having meals properly and not wasting food either.||Some of them feels language problem and some people told its very hard or impossible to adjust the food. Some people are getting problems due to long distance. Some feel lonely.||I think by giving them experience. By providing my wisdom, knowledge. I will try to give and tech them whatever I have learnt and gained till now in my life. I will try to manage them, create a health and friendly environment.|
|Prashant||There should be a good clarity about the career choice one should have while passing out from 10th. There lot of examples where students take science on their parents pressure. We should counsel them on these topics.||Every individual is responsible towards the society through his actions. The students should be taught about the self accountability and their actions that affect the society.||Today students are swayed by peer pressure and aspirations of parents.||My experience as a student in well reputed St Xavier's School and undergrad at BITS will help me in providing valuable inputs to the students. My stint as a software professional has provided me knowledge about how to hone your strength and work upon them since childhood.|
|Bibhansu kumar||these pupils need a good career counciling session.due to the age group they belong to,most of them were influenced by the trends like acting and cricket.but it was just due to their fantacy, however,i found a one named deepak who wanted to join indian army, bcoz he wanted to serve the nation.it was an amazing session with those young minds.||they generously took part in the swacch bharat abhiyan initiated by honourable PM narendra modi.at this young age, they all had taken part in tree plantation progrrame, which actually excited me.so,these kids had known their responsibilities towards society and mother nature.||1.the school had no toilet for boys.|

|SAJIDA||Most of the boys were very clear about their career plan and what they wanted to become in future, but the girls weren't clear. They weren't even sure if they would continue studying after Grade 10. Overall the students who wanted to become Engineers were more.||Yes. They were aware of their responsibilities and I came to know that they are taught Environmental Science as a subject which teaches them to be Environment friendly.Few of them said that they use the leftover water in their bottle to water the plants on their way home in the evenings.||Since most of the students belong to lower class, sometimes it so happens that they don't make the fee payment on time due to which the school management will ask them to stop attending classes until they make the payment.|
The other problem is being unable to talk about their studies to their parents as the parents are uneducated.
|Below is a list that I made upon analysing the survey.|
1. I would on increasing their confidence levels.

|Firstly, we need to organize an interactive session where we will only have casual talks, without involving any conversation academic and career plans. During this process, they can believe that we can help them. Students will automatically reach out to us with their problems. Secondly, we can show them some motivational videos or conduct motivating lecture session, which can increase their confidence and intercommunication skills, which might help them to stay healthy. In this way, they might also become responsible towards the society and environment. |
|Chirag||Out of 69 only 14-15 students give this answer and remain just thinking.||Yeah, They are following Swachh Bharat Abhiyan .||Lack of guidance and resources like us . The one who can understand them and treat him like a true friend.||By my skills and positive attitude and feelings for students,Contribute to soceity because by adore india i feel something amazing after conducting activity. I think with apt guidance and required support these students can lead a healthy life with emotional and social stability.|

|Akanksha||Some of them are not really clear of their future and some of them have certain career goals which,in my opinion, they'll be able to achieve because they are determined about the same.||They are not very responsible as of now. But I am sure as they grow older, they will become more responsible and serious.||The major problem faced by students is that they are afraid of competition in almost every field and along with that they lag openness and confidence.||The first thing is these students should be given sessions mostly on public speaking. We as volunteers, should visit schools and focus on such interactive sessions which involves each student. Also, since they don't share their problems and are not very open to their parents, we should talk about their opinions since we are almost their age group and they would be more comfortable with us. we should help them in career counselling because they are going to land up in a very important phase soon. so they should be able to make the best use of their education and land up in good career.|
|Sreyashi||They have plans but are still confused. I feel they require correct mentoring so that they can follow the right path.||Our younger generation do feel responsive towards their society.||The problem they face is lack of proper guidance and lack of concentration towards the right goal.||I will get acquainted to them and will gain their confidence so that they are able to connect with me. And to some the idea is vague.||While doing this survey I got to know few problems children are facing. Due to huge pressure of studies they dont get time for extra ciricular activities. What are the do's and dont's for that.|
Also I would like to grow confidence level in the them.
And also reduce stage fright. To enhance their communication skills.
|AMRITA||The survey shows that students do have the freedom to choose their career and mostly parents are supportive. They do have specific plans and most importantly, they know the arenas they need to develop on. |
However, there are some students(around 4) who have mentioned that they are yet to decide about their career.
|Every student feels he/she is responsible towards the society. They have also mentioned how they take care of the environment by planting trees, keeping the surroundings clean and conserving natural resources( they have mostly mentioned about how they try to conserve water)||1. Hectic schedules and pressure|
2. Parents not being supportive with the idea of choosing a career which is not related to the academic field(in some cases)
3. Students have mentioned that they want teachers to treat all of them equally.
|Next time I interact with the students, I'll focus on their career plans and also on Public Speaking specifically. I am planning to speak to the Principal and request her to have more of seminars and interactive activities which would enhance the level of confidence in the children. Also a special attention has to be given to their Communication silks( writing/speaking in English)|

Still there were a few who had built up the sense of responsibility in them.||The average problem that I found whie taking this survey was that almost all of them feel down when they face any problem in life. The reason must be due to failure of academic goals, peer pressure, being domotivated by seniors, elders.||I think I can guide these students in a number of ways. Firstly I would like to develop a sense of responsibility in them. I can go ahead and talk to them, give them suggestions reagarding planning their career and pursuing it. I can also conduct some social activities in some schools provided I get a chance. I can also help them with their academic activities in daily life.|
|ATHARV||Most of students want to pursue science stream. Many of them were in 10th standard and said that if they score above 90% then they would opt for engineering and would aver for IIT's and few of them said them were confused which field to choose.||One major drawback in the students I came across while analyizing is that they were least bothered at contributing towards the society. in our area, tree plantation drive was conducted on 5th june but hardly a handful of individuals belonging to this age group participated in this drive.||About 10 of them told me that they had|
problem in maths subject in academics. Nothing much did come out of survey regarding this question.
|There are definitiely many aspects to work on. Especially regarding awareness that they are a part of society and keeping aside their selfish motives should contribute towards the betterment of society. They should take part in preservation of nature.I also feel that they should be guided importance of exercise in their life.|
|Shreya||Most of them had a career plan but were finding themselves unable to pursue them properly due to lack of proper guidance and determination and demotivation in case of unconventional career paths. Those who did not have a career plan didn't know what they are going to do with their lives. They were totally dependent on their parents and needed someone to guide them and introduce them to different career paths available nowadays.||Most of them feel that they have a responsibility towards society but were doing nothing in this direction.||Lack of awareness about career options available nowadays, low level of confidence and fear of public speaking, communication gap with their parents.||During this survey I realized that most of the students suffer from low confidence level, they are not able to follow or choose the right career paths and they do not discuss these problems with their parents. These problems are more severe with the students from poor family background. So, we can introduce us to them in their schools and can conduct interactive sessions with them about their careers and guide them about the same. We can also conduct group discussions and team activities to help them improve their public speaking skills and leadership qualities.|

Encourage them to share their problems with some trusted elder.
Organising mock debate sessions and group discussion sessions based on relevant topics.
|Nishtha||They all hesitate abit before answering me anything about their career plans. They have a fixated view about Science being the best. Then comes commerce, and then arts. They are not aware about the number of degrees they could approach for.||The students are aware about the fact that they are responsible towards the society, but at the same time, they do not take any action to do so.||The students seem quite confused when it comes to career. They stress out, not knowing what to do. I think they should be given a session on various branches and how flexible the education system has become today.||I think, these students can be guided by taking sessions with them and clarifying their doubts. These students need to know about how exactly the education system works.|
Also, they should be given opportunities to talk in front of people, many good speakers might come up in the process.
Their parents should be guided as to how to mould their children, not only that, the teachers of the school should also be told about the problems that their kids are facing and the school should also put in some effort for seeing their kids grow.
|Neha||students in our locality know it very well what they want to do somehow exceptions are always there .who study in government schools they are out of path they are a radar without direction because there is no any motivating factor in there life .they are lethargic||Students with having good atmosphere of education are aware of their social responsibility but the condition of gvn schools are menace||First there is no any English medium school after 8th standard within the premises of 20 km |

While few were unable to approach their teachers, some faced the problem of pressure with their studies. Some of the college students faced the problems of their demands not being met and fees hike. Moreover, some of the students being affirmative could find no lack in the system.||Being senior to the students, I realise that I hold a huge responsibility towards them. As the children are the future of our country, I would guide them every possible way so that they grow up to become active and responsible citizens of the nation. I would discuss their problems just as a friend and help them sort it out and accordingly guide them. Moreover, holding interactive workshops with the parents and children alike would also prove to be helpful.|

They have a problem regarding teachers being very strict in some government schools.||We can motivate them to stand up for themselves to present their opinions.
