Legacy iOS devices spreadsheets by iconredesign

A spreadsheet to make it easy for the newcomer and the experienced collector in finding, identifying, and discovering the truly rare iOS device.
A seven-level "Rarity" scale shows you how hard to come by a device on a specific version is.

"Rarity" is defined as "few existing in the world," devices that not mere money can buy.

Still under construction - Help really appreciated!
To avoid vandalism, only approved contributors are allowed to directly edit this series of spreadsheets. Contact me to be considered.

The sheet "Apple Silicon" is an overall sorting of devices by their chipset, as well as some information on the iOS versions they work on.
The sheets "iPhone," "iPod touch," and "iPad" are pretty self explanatory. The "iPad" sheet lists all models in chronological order.

Only devices capable of running a version of legacy iOS - defined as iOS 12 or below and no longer supported by Apple - are shown in this series of spreadsheets.
Listed devices will feature ALL of its compatible iOS versions even if it's not classed as a legacy iOS version (ie iOS/iPadOS 13 or later) for convenience.

*****Rarities for the highest major release of iOS for every device will be relative to the commonalty of the max version for device instead of absolute rarity, due to lack of data, unless otherwise specified.*****
*****This is temporary and we hope to resolve this as we continue to develop this spreadsheet.*****

HOW TO READ

Bold sections in chart represent most original software version for each specific hardware.

The
"Differentiator" column denotes simple tricks you can use to visually identify the device model if the serial number or model number is not available.

For the official Apple guides in telling apart different models: see iPhone - iPod touch - iPad

The "Specific Hardware Variations" column highlights select hardware changes within a model that changes the iOS version compatibility. Certain variants of a model may not be compatible with
ceratin software versions that other variants of the same models otherwise are. Only notable models that are most likely of concern to a collector are listed and it is not meant to be exhaustive.

The
"Visual differences" column denotes simple tricks you can use to visually identify the iOS version if the About page is not available.

Seven different classes exist in the
"Rarity" column: Most Common - Very Common - Common - Uncommon - Rare - Very Rare - Most Rare

The
"Price" column illustrate a very, very rough sample "standard" median price in United States dollars. Individual listings will deviate from this dollar amount.
Prices listed are not definitive and should not be regarded as such. Amounts subject to change.
