*NEW Virginia R. Urquhart Memorial FundApril 30, 2023“Ginny” Urquhart was the secretary at North Kingstown High School for two assistant principals who dealt with student discipline. She developed a reputation of being kind and yet holding the students accountable for their behavior. Her compassion was well known among the students; she would always listen to their side of the story. Many graduates went on to a “healthier” lifestyle because of her involvement in their lives. She received many personal letters from “her students'', remarking how she influenced their lives. At the 1999 NKHS Graduation, she received the Employee Excellence Award for her dedication to the school and the students.
These two scholarships were created as a legacy to her. Her family wanted to continue her kindness to future graduates, especially those who have chosen a technical school or other job-based training.

Our goal is to support those recent graduates that want to extend their education in a technical field, one that would closely align with careers in the working world.
