ABOUT THE FIC ARCHIVE MASTER SPREADSHEET:
2
The Profound Bond Destiel Fic Archive, created and curated primarily by unforth#6748, is a resource for cataloging, saving, organizing and archiving the vast wealth of written works created by authors who write Dean/Cas or Destiel content. Our ultimate goal is to preserve as much as possible, with an eye especially towards tracking down copies of works that have been deleted and ensuring these works are not lost. This spreadsheet provides a roadmap for understanding the contents of the archive, to better enable people to access the content we house and to help us find content we seek.

Sheet 1: About this Workbork - just what it says on the packaging, and where you are right now!
10
11
Sheet 2: Fic List - a list of every fic in the archive, AND every missing work. This sheet includes:
1. Author's name and known pseudonyms
2. Fic titles and series information
3. A link to at least one platform on which the work is available - favoring AO3 as much as possible. If a work is deleted, no link is provided, it's labeled as deleted, and the platform it was formerly on is listed.
4. Information on what format(s) the fic is available in, if it's available at all.

THIS SHEET IS COLOR CODED AS FOLLOWS:
12
NO FILL means: I have a copy of this work available, even if the work has been deleted.
13
RED means: I do not have a copy of this work; if you do please send it to me
14
YELLOW means: I have an unformatted, copied-and-pasted version of this that needs to be formated to epub for distribution (and if you have a formatted copy, please send it, cause you'll save me some work.)
15
ORANGE means: this document is ready to convert to ebook format; I have a formatted document that is ready to be converted to PDF or ePub or whatever.
16
GRAY means: Author does not want this work distributed, and no I won't make an exception for you
17
PINK means: My copy is incomplete, and how many chapters I have is indicated in the availability status. If you have a copy with more chapters, please send it to me. Note that in many instances, I don't know if a work was ever completed, so my incomplete copy may actually have as many chapters as were ever written.
18
BLUE means: I have located a copy of this but haven't downloaded it/saved it yet
19
GREEN means: story has been orphaned. (this is NOT CURRENTLY a complete list of ALL orphaned works in the collection, and requires updating!)
20
21
Sheet 3: Lost Fic - this is a list of all deleted works I know of, including the original link where the work was, before it was deleted, a link to a summary and often tags for the fic in question, and whether or not I've looked extensively for it. Notes indicate any additional information I know about the work in question. Lower down on this sheet, there is a list of works I have to investigate. IF YOU HAVE ANY WORK ON THIS, ANY WORK AT ALL, EVEN INCOMPLETE COPIES, IN ANY FORMAT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
22
23
Sheet 4: Authors - a list of all authors who have at least one work on the Fic List. Authors who have deleted are marked, links are included for multiple platforms whenever known, and records on this sheet indicated when last all works by any given author were downloaded, if ever. Notes clarify any points of confusion, and provide any additional information I know about authors who have deleted.

THIS SHEET IS COLOR CODED AS FOLLOWS
24
NO FILL means: no known issues with this author currently, and I'm trying to collect all their works.
25
RED means: author is known to have deleted some or all of their works.
26
GREEN means: author known to have orphaned some or all works; many authors orphan some and delete others, so some individuals who orphaned at least some works may be marked in red, if they're known to have deleted many as well.
27
28
Sheet 5: Challenges to DL - this is a list of known SPN and Destiel challenges with links where to find their masterlists or collections; my intention is to ultimately make sure all works from these challenges that feature Destiel have been downloaded.
29
30
Sheet 6: Old Lists to DL - one of the prime ways to find information about works that have been deleted is to search through old rec lists; this is a list of old rec lists that I intend to go through (I used to delete links to lists that I've gone through, though now I'm just marking them "done"). It's probably the least organized and most "personal brain dump" of any of the sheets, though I have tried to organize it basically for general usage. Please let me know if you have questions, though.
31
32
Sheet 7: Published Stories - several works that have been deleted, especially those marked Not For Distribution, were deleted so the author could edit and publish them as original works. This is a list of Destiel works, the original works created based on them, the author, and where to purchase a copy. It is definitely a work in progress; please let me know if you know of works that should be added to this list. Note that this is specifically for Destiel works that were modified into original fiction, and is not meant as a master list of all original fiction created by Destiel authors.
33
34
Sheet 8: Resources for Finding Fic - some of the resources I use to locate missing fics; if you're helping look or have things you'd like to locate from this or other fandoms independent of this project, these resources may help you.
35
36
Sheet 9: Update Log - a log of changes made to this sheet and who has made them; essential for tracking now that we've got multiple people working together on the project. If you make changes, please make sure you add an update, even in general terms (ie, "downloaded 10 works by author X")
37
38
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW ABOUT THIS LIST:
If you see an author, and there are no links for their works and/or the vast majority of their stories are labeled as being deleted, or if you see an author who is listed and highlighted as a deleted author on the Authors sheet, and you've got a work who's title I don't have listed at all? SEND ME THAT WORK, because this combination means I didn't even find the name of the work you've got when I tried to track down the works by a deleted author.
39
40
NOTES
41
> The vast majority of the fics in this collection are Destiel, but not *all* of them are. They are all Supernatural, or crossovers, or fusions (except for multi-chapter works that include chapters of short works each for different fandoms). But just be aware, you may find any of a number of non-Destiel ships featured in these works, RPF, and/or gen fics. The reason this is the case mostly boils down to three factors:
1. It's not always possible to tell, based on tags, what the main/final/endgame ship is for a given work.
2. Many long series feature multiple ships at different points in the series; many authors will focus on one ship in the first work of a series, for example, and then explore a different ship in a follow up. Since all works in a series are included in this collection in nearly every case, that includes these series works that don't necessarily highlight Destiel, even if other works in the series do.
3. Especially in the case of deleted authors...I took everything I could find. I'd rather cast a wide net, and end up including some works that aren't Destiel, then let works be lost just because they don't feature my primary ship.
When in doubt, nearly everything is from a platform that includes tags. Heed the tags, ask around for others who've read a work, and don't read anything you think you'll be uncomfortable with.
42
> If a fic has coauthors, they're listed in alphabetical order on this sheet. If the listed co-author is actually an artist or secondary creator, they are sometimes but not always included on this list (but they sometimes are, since I couldn't always tell). For file organization purposes, in nearly every case, a file is in the folder for every co-author who was contributed to the writing of a piece. So if Username1 and Username2 each contributed to This Story, you'll be able to find This Story in the folder for both Username1 and Username2. There are two notable exceptions to this (so far) which are...
43
> ...Redemption Road and the Pillow 'Verse, which are both long, multi-work series that had many, many authors. Rather than copy, like, 45 stories into ten different folders, you can instead find these two stories under the AO3 pseudonyms they were posted under: spnredemption and thepillowverse.
44
> If a series has co-authors, then all works in that series are listed with all co-authors, even if some specific works were only written by one person or another. This is to ensure that, when the spreadsheet is sorted by author, all works in the same series are listed together. If this was handled differently, it would potentially be very confusing. The only exception to this is cases where someone listed as a co-author is actually an artist, podficcer, etc., or if it's a very long series where only, like, one work has a co-author (but not even always then, sometimes I still listed those under both names.)
45
> On various platforms, some works have either been posted anonymously or have been orphaned. In all cases where I could identify an original author, the work has been listed under the original author's name. The only works listed as anonymous (which includes orphaned works) are those for which I could not determine the author. Note that nothing is listed under "orphaned" or "orphan work," because there is an author named orphan and I was worried about causing confusion.
46
> In order to keep things organized, readable and consistent, I did make some command decisions about punctuation, capitalization, and grammar in formatting titles in this sheet and in the shared drive. For the most part, I capitalized the main words of a title, and not the "secondary" words like the, of, etc. When titling computer files, I couldn't use certain punctuation due to computer restrictions, so : is replaced with -, " by ', and other swaps have been made as well. Author names usually (but not 100% of the time) match the capitalization on their primary account. In general, I tried for uniformity, but honestly this is a huge collection and I wasn't always consistent about this stuff. Sorry, not sorry?
47
> A handful of stories on the Fic List have been annotated with comments; this is usually cases where I found name inconsistencies across multiple platforms, or where series orders got muddled by a story's inclusion in multiple series. There is also a Notes column on the Authors sheet that includes information I felt was important to know or notes I took while investigating deleted authors.
48
> There are many authors who have AO3 Pseuds, have used different names on different platforms, and/or have changed their usernames over time. I have identified as many of these alternatives as I can. I list someone's "official" name as their most recent name (in the vast majority of cases, if I even knew which name was most recent; there are exceptions though); all other names are listed as "aka..." on the Fic List, and in the "Author's Other Name(s)" column on the Authors sheet. This is to facilitate searching for authors, and I've enlisted every alt I could find that differs by at least one letter or by punctuation. Therefore, an author who went by both username and user_name, I would list as username (aka user_name) but an author who went by UserName and username, I would only list one, since the capitalization difference has no impact on people searching, nor on sorting and the like.

55
> Track down all orphaned works

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
58
1. You can tell me if you have a large fic archive, and let me @ you when I'm looking for things. If you are on the Profound Bond Discord, you can also request the Archivist role, which will be pinged when deleted/missing works are being sought.
59
2. You can let me know if you hear about a fic that's been deleted, or learn of an author who used to be active and whose works are now gone.
60
3. You can send me fics you have that you know are deleted so that I'll have a copy.
61
4. You can look at my list, pick a work labeled as "to download," and save the work for me in .doc or PDF or e-book format
62
5. You can grab one or more unformatted .docs, format them, and convert them to PDF or e-book format. I will be releasing a style guide at some point, so that anyone who wants to do this will know how to proceed. Style Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14LBCp_vjnO3fQbJ6SSBt9aV5PQTnbYGY/view?usp=sharing
63
6. You can pick any deleted title you're interested in, which is labeled as my not having a copy, and make your own efforts to find a copy. If you do locate one, please send it to me. Ways to do this include checking the Wayback Machine, tracking down alternate posting platforms, asking on spnstoryfinders, outreaching to the creators of rec lists including the work to see if they have it, contacting the original author, or any other means you can think of. Do not harass original creators who have chosen to remove their works.
64
7. You can tell me if you find any mistakes, double entries, dead links, or other issues with this spreadsheet. I've tried to keep things organized, but things are always changing, and I'm only human, so...errors happen.
65
8. You can share with me old rec lists that you've created, or that you find, or that you know of, so that I can go through them to try to track down older fics that may have been deleted.
66
9. You can check your Tumblr for reblogs of tumblr ficlets by authors who have deleted their Tumblr accounts.
67
10. You can pick a challenge from the "Challenges to DL" list and make sure that all the Destiel works in that collection have been added to the archive.
68
11. You can pick an author with no date in the "date downloaded" list, download all their works, and send them to me.
69
12. You can pick an author on the Authors list and see if they have alternate accounts on FF.net, AO3, LJ, DW, Wattpad, Tumblr or elsewhere, where they may have posted additional work, and add the link to the authors sheet (if you do this, please indicate in the NOTES field that you've added a previously unchecked link)
70
13. You can track down other fandom challenges that you know include Destiel works and add them to the list of Challenges to DL.
71
14. You can let me know if you know of anyone who has changed their username, old usernames they might have used, and different names they may have used on other platforms. Also, if you spot anyone on the list who's works are under two different names when they are, in fact, the same person, please tell me so I can consolidate entries/authors.
72
15. Are you a writer? Let me know if you change your username!
73
16. Are you a writer? Let me know if you're deleting or orphaning any or all of yours - and PLEASE let me know if whether or not you're okay having your works distributed.
74
17. Are you a writer who has deleted works? I'd appreciate it very much if you'd share your deleted work(s) with the archive. Please let me know if you're comfortable with my distributing whatever works I've got; if you are not comfortable with it, I promise, we will not distribute anything without your permission.
75
18. If you know of or find a resource that helps finding missing fic, please share it with me!
76
19. You can take a peek at the many WIP on this list and take some time to check and tell me if they've been updated, or especially if they've been completed, so I can update the list. (I do a run through periodically, roughly every few months).
77
20. If you see a work on this list that has subsequently been turned into a series, you can let me know so I can reorganize the list and archive accordingly.
78
21. You can pick a work that's on Wattpad or Quotev, go to "view source," and use that to copy the work into a doc so it can be added to the archive.
79
22. YOU CAN SHARE YOUR OPINION: Is it helpful to have all author's alternate names on the fic list, or do you think it's adequate if they're all listed on the Author sheet?
80
23. YOU CAN SHARE YOUR OPINION: Right now I've favored PDFs, considering them the most "universal" of the formats available at the moment. Would people like all works to be available primarily as PDFs? For works to be available in multiple formats? Something else? If people would prefer a different default format, what format would you prefer - ePub, Mobi, HTML, or something else?
81
82
How did I decide what to include in this collection?
83
1. All fics that received a vote in my Destiel Favs Survey are included.
84
2. All or almost all fics recced on the Profound Bond Discord are included.
85
3. I'm working to download all Destiel works by all authors who got at least one vote for "favorite author" on the fave list.
86
4. If I go through a rec list looking for a deleted work, I usually add any non-deleted works I find along the way.
87
5. If an author has deleted some works but no others, my fears that they'll ultimately delete more generally lead me to download everything they've written just in case.
88
6. Works completed for fandom challenges, such as the Dean/Cas Big Bang, are included.
89
7. ...and honestly there are so many random-ass ways I found stories to include on this
90
In the end my goal is to include as wide a swath of all Destiel works written as I can, it just is extremely time consuming. If I could click a button and just...poof download ALL the Destiel...I would. I can't though, so instead I'm doing my best!
