EC Literacy Targeted Professional Development Plan
35
Our Early Childhood Literacy Targeted Professional Development Plan focuses on strengthening literacy instruction for K-3 teachers. All K-3 teachers will have completed or will complete The Science of Reading Academies. We will also use tools such as Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessments, mClass, IXL, and Instructional Coaching to support teaching and track student progress.
Teachers will participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to collaborate and share strategies. Additional Campus PD will be offered on key topics such as Amplify/Bluebonnet Reading, Research-Based Reading Strategies, Productive Struggle, and Comprehension.
These efforts are supported by our Campus Improvement Plan and Campus Targeted Improvement Plan, which provide additional strategies, resources, and timelines to guide our progress.

For inclusion in our targeted professional development plan, we will leverage Eureka Math and IXL as core instructional tools, complemented by instructional coaching and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance teacher effectiveness and student outcomes. Teachers will review student progress data regularly to evaluate the impact of their instruction and make adjustments as necessary.
