Project-based Learning

UN Sustainability Goals
Building Classroom Culture Students examine where they are in the universe, learning geography, civics, and earth science in the process.

They “zoom out” from community all the way out to space, stopping to understand systems + physical science along the way.
Students will explore civics, geography, economics, history, and global cultures using various sources and skills to evaluate, discuss, and act on information, fostering informed citizenship and understanding of human experiences.Lunar New Year

Cultural traditions + Celebrations
Good luck phrases + Wishes for prosperity
Storytelling
Family Reunion + New Beginnings
Students learn about the physical properties of sound and light through scientific experiments. Students also study animal legends as an oral storytelling tradition of the First People.

For the capstone project, students generate their own animal legend on a digital storytelling software application created by IFS parents (professionals in software engineering and AI).

For the capstone project, students generate their own animal legend on a digital storytelling software application created by IFS parents (professionals in software engineering and AI). Students will share one of their best pieces written throughout the school year with their peers and parents in small groups. We celebrate their pride in being writers, bilinguals, and biliterates. We will celebrate the second Global Village in late June. The whole school will focus on a specific place in the world to deeply explore its culture. This will include famous sites, food, clothing, language, location, geography, and more.
