Are you graduating high school and college isn’t for you? Want a plan but don’t know where to start? Maybe CCI is right for you! Crooker Construction Institute (CCI) offers a paid training program to motivated individuals interested in building a career in the construction industry.

Participants will learn about the basics of working in the construction industry as well as the specifics of working for Crooker Construction. Our team of seasoned professionals will guide participants through a barrage of hands-on training in the classroom and in the field. During the interactive training participants will learn about general construction site awareness, proper use of small equipment, basic construction math, precast concrete production, paving skills, underground utility, aggregate production, project layout, and much more! Following the successful completion of the program participants will be assigned to a field crew or internal operations to continue their training and build their career.

The 2021 training program will begin Monday, June 21st and will conclude on Friday, July 9th

Job Summary
Operator – CDL Driver - Mulch & Soil Manufacturer- Class A DOT flatbed and live floor tractor trailer operation making multiple daily runs. High activity season will require availability to maximum hours allowable under DOT & safety compliance. Drivers are required to strap, weigh station & tarp palletized loads. Drivers must be able to operate Forklift equipment to unload cargo. Fast –paced operation. Overtime likely. Full Time and Part Time Available. Home every night. Stay On Bonus is available if you work the entire busy season

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Valid Class A CDL license, clean 3-year MVR report and ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical & drug test, and criminal background search
Perform routine pre & post trip inspection inspections, properly secure and strap heavy loads for travel, and demonstrate proficiency in Forklift Certification Training & Successfully complete Decision Driving Safety course including but not limited to written test & observed road test
Maintain accurate and legible logs and records in compliance with DOT and company standards to include but not limited to: maintenance reporting, pre & post trip inspections, fuel ticket records, delivery manifests & documentation, and necessary customer delivery signatures
Perform preventive maintenance safety inspections (tires, mirrors, brakes, fluids, tarps, straps) & fueling duties. Physically fit to climb & perform
Able to distinguish proper inventory via SKUs and labeling and communicate effectively with dispatch, Scale House and shipping departments


Physical Requirements
Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs occasionally
DOT Physical is required
Employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, lift, strap, tarp and remove tarp and load their own equipment operating a forklift
Will be exposed to all elements of the weather from sun and heat to snow and cold and rain and wind and dust and dirt as presented by the weather
Properly secure flatbed load as required by DOT for flatbed equipment and movement of product

Mixing Line Operator- FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS- $500 Sign on Bonus

Summary
The Mixing Line Operator plays a key role in achieving company goals by mixing raw ingredients to ensure product meets company standards while working safely. A Mixing Line Operator is required to follow a recipe and gather, weigh, mix, and prepare ingredients while ensuring waste is minimized. This individual will be responsible for preparing and operating equipment as well as shutting down machinery for cleanup.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set up Mixing Line for startup and changeover, assemble and operate the machine for production, and shut down equipment for clean up
Follow a production schedule and ensure mixing is completed in the allotted time
Retrieve bins of product and returning to mixing line and add amendments/fertilizers to product mix
Test basic soil chemistry for compliance
Ensure product quality meets company standards by weighing product, monitor machine settings, complete line check forms, and communicate with other departments
Troubleshooting and problem solving when necessary (i.e. making adjustments to the machines)
Maintain a clean working area, such as disposing of waste and cleaning floor
Adhere to the Company’s safety policies and procedures
Work in other production areas as required
Other duties as assigned

Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is preferred
Previous manufacturing experience is an asset
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a dedication to quality and safety
Working as part of a team, often with minimal supervision, while maintaining a positive and respectful workplace
Abiding by company policies and procedures
Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving
Ability to use arithmetic to perform production related calculations
Previous experience running a forklift is preferred

Working Conditions
Must be available for day and weekend shifts
Safety protection is required
Exposure to some job-related hazards, including moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery, climbing small ladders, dusty environment, and heavy objects

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear
The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time
The employee may frequently stand on their feet
The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level. The need to lift over 65 lbs. may arise from time to time – should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift
The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body – bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching
