- Prepare For ReRating, Post Trade Deadline Work:

- Prepare an excel file with 33 sheets, one for each team, and one for the standings

- Copy/Paste from website each team’s rosters and stats, trim out columns you do not need

- Highlight columns that require charted re-rating at some point (IT, EN, DU, DI, PA, PC, DF, SC)

(As these stats are re-rated, unshade the cell to indicate you’ve made the progress)

(by shading cells ahead of beginning everything, it makes stopping and starting work easier)

- SP, ST, SK are re-rated for players 25 and under by random number, shade only those

- SP, SK, ST, EN, DU for players 34 years and older need to be shaded as well

- IT for 36+ year olds is -1

- SP/SK/ST for 25 and under players are +1 on a 50% chance:

(Max: 80) (64 & Under: +2)

- SP/SK/ST/EN/DU are all moved -1 for players 34, 35, and 36 years old… -2 if 37+

- Prepare for ReRating, End of Regular Season Work:

- Copy/Paste in the standings and group teams together based on GF differential for the

purposes of individual DF re-rating later in the process. How they’re grouped has been

slightly fluid.

- Mark ahead of time players on pro rosters that require a farm re-rate, reverse for farm

(more games played = you’ll use the appropriate re-rate methods)

- Prorate Pro stats using Excel formulae, each stat 85% of their unplayed games

(Stat/GP*82*.85)---only for 69GP or less , then format cells to round numbers.

- Prorate Farm Stats step 1. Max goals is 700, Min is 350. (You’re capping farm points / bringing

up minimum points for teams above/below these goals), then format cells to round numbers.

- Prorate Farm Stats step 2. Prorate Pro stats using Excel formulae, each stat 85% of their

unplayed games. (Stat/GP*82*.85)---only for 69GP or less , then format cells to round numbers.

- EX/LD are pre-determined, with the plan being +5 every two seasons (Pro), +3 for farm, so

we alternate years +3/+2 and +2/+1. These are done quick and easy, no shading needed

since you can get a team done in a minute.

- Uncharted Rerating, Stat-by-Stat:

- EX/LD can be done first. Since some farm re-rate players will be listed on pro and vice-versa,

you’ve already marked these players in a column to avoid mistakes. Bump +3/+2 for each EX/LD

on all pro players, +2/+1 for farm, depending on the year. Farm is easily done with copy/special

paste addition function.

(If EX/LD starts at 80+, max bump is +2 on a pro re-rate, +1 on a farm re-rate)

- FARM season IT rerates are +1 for players 18-23 years old (Max: 75)

- EN/DU for FARM players is also +2/+1 on an alternating year basis, ages 18-33. If stat starts at

80+, max bump is +1

- DI on the farm: Get the average PIM for the farm team you’re re-rating, + or - 1 point for every

30pim above/below the team average.

- DF for FARM players is rerated on a % chance

Age 18-23 50% +2, 100% +1 (78 max)

Age 24-29 40% (75 max)

Age 24-29 30% +1 (75 max)

- Charted Rerating

There is an ever growing chart of re-rated stats for pro rerates (IT, EN, DU, DI, PA/PC, SC, and DF)

and for farm rerates (PA/PC, and SC). There are also separate charts for age groups within these sets. Why I’ve always been hesitant to just release it for all is that there are surely inconsistencies that remain (ie: X stat at X rating may be +1 at age 28, but +0 at age 24, when that

wouldn’t follow the intent). To this day I’ve just considered it the random element of movement, and every cycle more has been filled in and edited to clean it up and make it more consistent. With the upcoming being the 6th cycle for me, there shouldn’t be too much new

to enter and it should be at least consistent for everyone, even where inconsistent.

This is the truly time consuming part of re-rating, as you will be jumping around within sheets according to the age/forward/defense group of the player. Multiple monitors is virtually a necessity for your efficiency and sanity, as well as only working on one thing at a

time (ie: Do all of a team’s SC column at once, don’t rerate a single player bouncing around every sheet with every stat, do one single age group at a time).

All-Over Applied Rules Override Anything On a Chart:

- No stat +/- more than 5 (6 if 59 or less)

- Age 24 & Under Drop Protection on PA/PC/SC (-1, -2 if starting at 78+)

- DF maximum drop is -3, -2 for non-playoff teams

The charts were never updated as the above structures come in to play, need to remember they apply no matter what chart you’re on.
