What this template doesHow to set up your Gantt
9
Phase-based Gantt: work is organised into phases (Discovery, Design, Build, QA, Launch), not a flat task list.1. Project Setup tab: enter project name, owner, key dates, and team.
10
Each task row has a visual bar across the week columns — filled for planned duration, shaded darker for completed portion.2. Gantt tab: for each task, set the Phase, Owner, Start week (Wk 1 = week 1 of project), and Duration in weeks.
11
Milestones are marked with 🚀 and critical-path tasks with 🔴 so you can see what blocks the launch date at a glance.3. The Gantt bar fills automatically based on start week + duration.
12
52 weeks pre-built, first 16 visible (~4 months). Unhide more columns as the project progresses.4. Update % Done weekly. The completed portion of the bar darkens.
13
5. Mark milestone rows with 🚀 in the task name. Mark critical path tasks with 🔴.
14
15
How to read the GanttUpdate rhythm
16
Light-coloured bar = planned duration (not yet done or in progress).Weekly: update % Done for each active task. Takes 10–15 minutes.
17
Dark-coloured bar = completed portion (proportional to % Done). Each phase end: review slippage. If a task is behind, adjust the next phase start week.
18
🔴 in task name = critical path — delay here delays the launch. Before any stakeholder review: check that all milestone rows are accurate.
19
🚀 in task name = milestone or launch event.
20
The "Today" column header is highlighted in green — scroll to it to see the current week.

25
To reveal the full year: Ctrl+A → right-click any column header → Unhide columns.Keep phase header rows visually distinct — use the same dark header style as existing phases.
26
