All empty containers returned to POMTOC must be 100% clean and swept prior to arrival. The terminal follows the cleanliness standards required by each respective shipping line. Before contacting your shipping line with questions, please review the guidelines below.

Containers will be rejected if any of the following conditions are present:

Dangerous cargo residue of any kind

Pest infestation (insects, rodents, nests, etc.)

Cargo residue or transferable contamination on any interior surface

Foreign materials such as:

 Lashing equipment

 Dunnage

 Debris

Any obstruction that impedes loading of cargo

Transferable oil stains on interior panels or flooing
16
Transferable stains or adhesive residue on interior panels or flooring
17
Sticky substances, including glue or tape
18
Hazardous cargo labels inside the container, or any label/tape, covering vent holes

Odors that may transfer to future cargo
