Lassen's is an Independent Natural Foods Chain in California. We have been in business since 1971. There are currently 11 stores in the Lassen's Chain with locations in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Bakersfield, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Wilshire La Brea, San Luis Obispo, and Oxnard. Our Stores feature 100% Organic Produce Departments and most have Full-Service Delis. We are known for our outstanding Customer Service, Extensive Vitamin and Cosmetic Departments, Natural/Organic Meat Departments, and a large selection of Natural and Organic Foods. Our Customer base is the "authentic health food shopper" with concerns for their health, community, environment, and family. We do not sell products with hydrogenated oils, artificial ingredients or colors, or preservatives. We sell only organic or 100% natural products.

General Contract Information

All Contract AgreementsPromotions are agreed upon by Lassen's and the company representative (the Signee) listed below. The Signee acting as the sole representative of the listed company takes full financial responsibility for all agreements contained herein. The Signee is the individual who has filled out the information below and emailed it to Lassens.

All terms including choice of product, discounts and quantities are agreed upon as listed herein. It is the responsibility of the company representative listed to verify with the distributors that all discounts have been passed on and quantity requirements have been met.

Each Brand must have its own contract, multiple brands on a contract will be returned and asked to be resubmitted correctly. One month per contract. Do not alter our contract with extra tabs.

Scan BackScan Backs are subject to a $65.00 processing fee for each promotion. Scans are subject to approval.

Minimum discount requirementsMinimum discount is 20%. Promotions with discounts below the minimum will be rejected, unless an arrangement with the buyer has been made.

Required Marketing BudgetLassen's expects all vendors to participate in our Marketing program in some way, in order to support new brands and grow existing brands on-shelf. The general guideline is a 3% of net sales benchmark for each vendor's marketing budget with a minimum of 1 circular flyer (or equivalent) per calendar year.

Contract BillingContracts are due in-full at time of submission, with the exception of billing through KeHE. Please note: we do not bill via UNFI. For promoted items shipped through UNFI, please provide the brand's billing information on the contract.

Please note our Marketing Team have full creative control over our Social media outlets and in store.

MARKETING DEADLINESMarketing Deadline submissions must be filled out on the "Marketing Contracts" tab and product information must be completed on the "Product Information Sheet" tab. Marketing deadlines are 75 days (2 1/2 months) prior to the intended starting day of the promo.

FLYER COVERLassen Cover includes Customer Cover Photography, Marquee Image on the website, Social Media post, and inclusion in our email newsletter. Lassen's Flyer circulation is sent out to 250,000 residents around our 11 locations and is featured as our in store circular for the month. Please submit high resolution images along with any requested copy with this contract. Lassen's Marketing team will coordinate final artwork with the vendor.

The monthly flyer goes out the first of the month and is available in store throughout the month.

Monthly Ad Circular Information

Circular InformationAn 8-page, full-color "Monthly Specials" Direct Mail Ad. Over 250,000 are sent to Lassen's Mailing List, and a monthly purchased mailing based on income and proximity to each location, and passed out/bag stuffed/available to every customer as an in-store flyer for the entire month of the promotion. Ad allowance is approximately 1.5 inches by 3 inches (Larger sizes are available - Please ask for pricing). If no art is supplied by the deadline, no photo will appear in the ad. Photos must be 600 dpi resolution or higher. Photos must be a "product family shot", company logo, or up to 3 single individual products. Photos must be submitted at the same time the Ad is submitted. Company rep emails acceptance of all ad agreements and by doing so commits to this contract.

Circular & Digital Spotlight packageProduct Spotlight is a double-sized circular ad with a 100-word writeup, printed in our monthly circular flyer. Spotlights are featured in the monthly Circular and will also be featured in one of the Lassen's weekly emails. This email is sent to approximately 80,000 loyalty customers.

Images and copy must be submitted with this contract.

Item/brand must be on sale to be eligible as a Spotlight promotion.

Co-branded Lassen's Team ShirtsLassen's team shirts are part of our required uniform. Team members are requried to wear the co-branded shirt 2 times a week during the contract time period.

Lassen's EventLassen's puts on 3 major events throughout the year: New Year / New You, Earth Day, & an Anniversary Event. During these events, we focus on customer education with seminars, samplings, deeper-than-normal discounts, raffle prizes, and creating a fun & exciting atmosphere for our customers in every location.

An event flyer is published and mailed to local zip codes, available in-store, emailed to Community+ members, and featured on our website to promote each event. Geo-targeted social media posts are sent out to drive foot traffic into the stores.

Community+ (Com+) Deals

Lassen's COM+ DealsCom+ promotions are deals, generally, run for a 1-week period (Monday through Saturday). These promotions are supported with email communication to our Com+ members, in-store sale signage, and secondary placement (not guaranteed - subject to buyer approval).

Com+ Deals are generally scheduled on the 2nd & 3rd week of the month (unless a month-long Com+ deal has been arranged in advance).

Monthly TPR and EDSP Information

TPRSTPR's are temporary price reductions. Lassen's TPR's run from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. All TPR's submitted to Lassen's are submitted to KeHE for the discount to be set up.

EDSPs (Every Day Sale Price) promotions are set up to reach a target shelf price. EDSP are scheduled to run for a minimum of 12 months.

Team Member Sample Product

Team member sampleTeam member sample is the opportunity to give all Lassen's team members 1 full product sample. Lassen's creates a custom coupon, digitally-attached to each team member's Lassen's account, and authorized for 1 unit (or more, approved by the vendor) of product redemption. The coupon is active for the chosen promotional month. Lassen's has, approximately, 300-360 team members. Lassen's will bill participating vendors for 300-360 units of product (at wholesale list), prior to the start of the month.

We also ask for digital assets and training information to pass along to each team member.

Dry Endcap

Dry EndcapLassen's Endcap program is guaranteed secondary placement on an endcap at the following locations, depending on the endcap package chosen. Lassen's agrees to provide Endcap outlines for all endcaps. Endcap displays are executed the first day of the month and taken down the last day of the month.

Grocery Endcaps are used to highlight and feature products. Endcaps are issued and approved as they are received. All endcaps must be approved by the regional buyer. Brand / Broker is responsible for the artwork at the time of contract being submitted. If no artwork is provided our Marketing Team will create the assets.

Two brands may share the cost and the space on one endcap.This needs to be facilitated by the Broker/Rep **Due to the size of the Los Feliz location we are only offering 1/2 endcaps for Endcap programs.

Vendors may be required to return or issue credit on excess product after the Endcap deal expires, if deemed necessary by the buyer.

Endcap Dipslay ProgramLassen's Cooler Endcap program is guaranteed secondary placement on a perishable endcap. The following stores are eligible for participation in this program: Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Bakersfield, San Luis Obipso, Echo Park & Wilshire La Brea. Endcaps are a full 4 shelf display set up the first day of the promotional month and taken down the last day of the month.

Perishable Endcaps are used to highlight and feature products. Endcaps are issued and approved as they are received. The regional buyer must sign off on all Perishable products.

Vendors may be required to return or issue credit on excess product after the Endcap deal expires if deemed necessary by the buyer.
