Perkins Program Overview
Perkins Course Competencies (PCC)
Perkins V legislation requires that all competencies be grouped into courses for reporting purposes. As part of the career pathways grant process, the competencies are aligned with the state career and technical education standards and are grouped into Perkins Course Competencies, referred to as a PCC.
Note: The numbers in the credential columns represent alignment between the credential objectives and the competency statements.
5
Instructional Design FormThe Instructional Design Form is customized per CIP code and reflects the number of PCCs and competencies on the Perkins Program Overview worksheet. Mark each competency in only one local class where the majority of students are expected to master the skill and/or are assessed on the skill.
6
Competency StatementsCompetency statements are listed on this worksheet by content area. Each has the PCC code in orange for easy reference.
7
Competencies & StandardsThe Competencies & Standards worksheet shows the alignment between the standards and competency statements. Performance indicators are listed if available. The standard source key can be found at the bottom of this worksheet.
8
Career Ready PracticesThe Career Ready Practices (CRP) are required for ALL CTE students in ALL CTE programs. There are four competency statements, standards, and performance indicators on the CRP worksheet. The CRP competencies are monitored through Technical Review, Assistance, and Compliance (TRAC) and CIP self-review. They are not reported in CTEIS.
9
Segment to Competency CrosswalkThe Segment to Competency Crosswalk worksheet is the same as the Competency & Standards worksheet, EXCEPT it also has columns to show how the Perkins IV segments align to the Perkins V competencies. This information may be helpful during the transition from segments to competencies, especially for CTEIS data entry tasks.
10
Simplified Segment CrosswalkThe Simplified Segment Crosswalk will be useful for CTEIS data entry tasks.
